  • [ – ] Vathek reply As an aspiring creator myself, I am glad there is finally another option besides youtube.
  • [ – ] alex reply Good summary :) thanks for creating this
  • duffy reply thanks for making this dude. really great job! and an awesome series too. we're honored :)
  • [ – ] VybeyPantelonez reply Nice little history. I really like vidme. The black background on android is schwiiinng. I think it actually looks more pro than yt and the profile page is cleaner imo. Yt feels sterile but just an opinion
  • LibertarianAz reply Just joined Vidme yay!
  • [ – ] RoughPanic reply AYYY I saw my pic in the end there. This was an enjoyably educational vid dude.
  • [ – ] AxxL_Afriku reply You forgot to mention that Vidme is my yard!
  • [ – ] InternetUnwind reply Fantastic video dad, guy narrating sounds like a scum bag though. ;P
  • [ – ] warren reply Thanks for making this! @Yellow_Syrup Impressive research, as always!
    • [ – ] Yellow_Syrup parent reply Thanks, Warren. couldn't have made it without help from Duffy! You have a great staff there!
      • [ – ] warren parent reply Duffy is a godsend for the company and the community! He cares more about supporting creators than pretty much anything else.
  • [ – ] ITSnippets reply "Mocking you tube for hasty decisions"... coz vidme doesnt make hasty decisions...oh wait..what about unverifying @Kentantino for tweeting Eli?
  • gudmemes reply Vidme reminds me of YouTube before it went to shit
  • Crack_Stove reply A sexy summary you've supplied. It's swell to hear vidme wasn't created in spite of YT. I can see this site kicking off even more in the future. Real talk the fact that vidme offers a community makes it 10x more valuable than YT to smaller channels like us. YT is so big that so much gets lost and never found. Vidme makes it totes easy to find the weird stuff for me with that random creator button, something i hold near and dear to my heart. Keep the goin' a flowin' vidme i want this video boner to last forever
  • [ – ] HowdyFolks reply I love Vidme! I've only had an account for a week now, but I can already tell there is a bright future here for creators. And the community is amazing!
  • Queepangel reply I'm hoping Vidme blows youtube out of existence. They are the thought police to the Nth degree, and so many of us will not support that.
  • [ – ] BrianAiya reply Eyyy :) I was waiting for you to make a history of vidme video ;P well can't wait to see part 2 when Vidme grow even more
  • Rawman reply really enjoyed that a lot! great video. also i see my pic haha.
  • [ – ] Dos_Gaming reply Wow... not even a single mention of Dos_Gaming who we all know is the most handsome squared chin creator on vidme... and is also super important to its History. He's been here since 1st September 2016! As someone who is a fan of Dos, and definitely in no way knows him, I am very unhappy with this!
    • [ – ] Yellow_Syrup parent reply I was actually really close to adding you in TBH but I've rarely interacted with you and the list of other people was already filled enough to add anyone else. Maybe in a future planned video maybe I'll give you a shout out boosting your popularity into the heavens.
      • [ – ] Dos_Gaming parent reply Haha, I hope you know i was joking (I did enjoy the video). I have a lot of stories from vidme myself and also from running the vidme villains network so PM if you ever do another video ;)
  • CreatorsThinkingCritically reply Such slick production Yellow_Syrup. Nice to meet you on Vidme.
  • [ – ] Christoph_Vaz reply The only thing I don't like is the lack of down vote, at least on videos. I would like to rate what I see.
    • Yellow_Syrup parent reply TBH I think it would be nice to have a star system like old YouTube, so they'll have an easier time being able to promote videos in the algorithm. YouTube themselves have trying to get rid of it as well from what I can tell.
  • Mintastic reply I came here to vid.me because of said creator options, plus I get 15+ more minutes of video time than what I get on YouTube. Currently I'm just using it to share creations to friends, as I don't expect to have much of a following, but the future is a lottery. :-)
  • octopusievideos reply Love the video, I have been trying to grow my audience on YouTube for 5 years, but on Vidme I can get followers and views fast. I also love the interface of vidme
  • aaronkaiser reply As someone new to Vidme, I appreciate seeing this rundown.
  • frawstakwa reply I'll be sending this a few people's ways...
  • RookieRanger reply Glad to find an alternative to Youtube...Full on 1984 over there.
  • DigiGhost reply I'm very happy that Vidme came along, smaller content creators needed a way to get noticed as YouTube decided to push them to the last page of the search results. Not to mention the Vidme support <3, on YouTube you would be lucky to have a bot respond to your complaints let alone a real human. On Vidme, I tweeted at them saying "nooo not a new layout" and guess what? They responded, asking me what my suggestion would be. They didn't ignore me, they listened to me. Which tells me that they listen to their community. I am really glad that I found this site.
  • GeoWalzak reply Thankyou for the intro.
  • ZTV_Productions reply Interesting and informative. I did not know that about vidme.
  • [ – ] ShannonGibbs reply I'm just now making the jump from YT.
  • SMALL_EYE reply Interesting video 👍
  • Rage_By_Nightfall reply Good video and good research, no doubt. Duffy is awesome. One of my vids got picked immediately and have had a pretty good start on my channel as well, unlike YT.
  • Jeepn_N_Creepn reply awesome I just signed up lovn it
  • [ – ] JoblessTuberMusic reply History of Freedom! Please
    • [ – ] Yellow_Syrup parent reply Hey, now that's actually something I've been working on in the background for awhile now. Though It would have to have a history of TGN and BBTV in there as well to pad out the video so there's more substance. I talked to Anthony on a private call around 5 months ago. Just been busy.
  • POVincent reply Thanks for the little history lesson, dude.
  • GeorgeEnglish reply I can't remember the other company you said. But they don't allow comments from me (I don't know why and care even less). Vidme allow comments so Vidme is where I shall stay.
  • XavierSmith reply I'd like the vidme app better if you could speed up videos on a mobile device and continue playing the video in minimized apps.
  • [ – ] JustHypeVibe reply This is what I've been waiting for!! 😊 Thanks @Yellow_Syrup 4 making this
  • Iannis_Hour reply Yea that's pretty imprasing :)
  • [ – ] WrongThinker reply Glad to hear the history of this platform. Plan on spending more time here now that youtube censorship is so out of control.
    • Yellow_Syrup parent reply I've been hit there weirdly enough. My channel doesn't show up in the search results in restricted mode. That's confusing to me because that was before I started adding cursing and other stuff.
  • tageneislover reply Wait, I didn't know about this video with the statue of Liberty. Great work man!
  • AdrianRascon reply Great video, thanks!
  • Righteoushi5 reply Bravo. Well said and just awesome. Hi5!
  • [ – ] VybeyPantelonez reply Whatever happened to ask a gangsta... havent seen im in a while
    • Yellow_Syrup parent reply He's active on Twitter and he follows me, I could ask him or you could try tweeting him. I think he's trying to stay a little secretive since the Kentantino drama.
  • GreyMovies reply Very well-made video! Greatly researched, too! Followed!
  • [ – ] Ghawk reply I thought vidme started in 2010?
    • Yellow_Syrup parent reply Hum... IDK You might be confused or something but Duffy read the script before it was made so it's 100% correct friend. Even Wayback machine shows website on data on Vidd.me only until 2014. So in case, there's some bit of information I'm missing online, from the Wayback Machine and from both founders and most of the staff at Vidme saying its a great video and well researched without saying the date was wrong, I would put my money on 2014.
    • [ – ] duffy parent reply There was a different company called Vidme before ours that was founded in 2010.
  • anderssinho reply Awesome vid 👍
  • Jotokutora reply F.ck Youtube!
  • Feminismisgay reply Discount youtube
  • MrFixIt reply I hope vidme is not purchased by George Soros & end up being a political sensorship. I can't deal with lefties
  • The_MOE_Dome reply Who is the Asian gal w/ the Twin-Tails....at the end. I like Twin-tails
  • [ – ] MrFlyingfox reply Now there is a second groing video site
    • MrFlyingfox parent reply Wups finish that too early what I meant to say there's a second video sharing site that could probably compete with vidme me in YouTube it's called Bitchute (yes I know it sounds like bitch but it's actually a pretty good site and it's growing pretty fast too so I know if something ever happens to like YouTube possibly suing them for no reason as always bitchute)
  • Morbidpink45 reply I have wanted to be a creator for a while now, but all the drama on YouTube I've been apprehensive. I even tried contacting them on how to get started, like how to get licensing for things like music and someone else's footage. No response. I guess they are too busy killing my favorite YouTube channels. Can you help me? I would to make funny music videos. Pleeeeaaaasssseeee! 😁
Download the Vidme app!
