If you guys see any scene transitions in these videos but there's no cutscene there, it likely means I used a checkpoint restart for one reason or another (like an enemy refusing to die and making me use 2-3 times more shots than it should; I get kind of anal about stuff like that D=).
Since Visceral took out the perfectly-functional manual saves in favor of this new broken autosave system, I'm going to (ab)use checkpoint restarts when needed to save time so I don't have to keep redoing an entire chapter because of a single section (this goes especially for optional missions, where there aren't any saves whatsoever and you lose all progress on one if you quit in the middle of it).
Anyways: you run into your first bench here, and I highly recommend making a shotgun (Heavy Frame+Military Engine+Conic Dispersal). A lot of enemies are now highly resistant to flinching/staggering from most weapons; stuff like the Plasma Cutter, semi-/full-auto guns, etc. will have a difficult time breaking their charges and pushing them back. The shotgun, however, knocks back/down anything it hits.
In addition, the shotgun can also one-shot most basic enemies on Impossible if you have at least +4 damage upgrades (though you'll have to settle for two-shot-kills until you get enough Tungsten to open up the circuit slots).
