  • Cozyman-Cam reply I had no idea Vidme existed and was unsure of what to use as a YouTube alternative. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • Patrick_Hostis reply Can't stand YouTube! Been censoring my videos for a yr now. I like VidMe a lot better!
  • [ – ] iTone reply I do agree that certain things aren't meant for children to view. I don't believe that discussing sexuality should be hidden from the youth. They should be allowed to explore sexuality no matter there. Certain things should be filtered tho but not all and not the discussion of lgbt as a whole. YouTube needs to fix it's restricted mode.
    • [ – ] he_is_not_funny parent reply when i was in 3rd grade me and my friends talked about flying in a hang glider and the space between you and the foil would have a beautiful naked woman and you steered the flight by grabbing her tits. 3rd grade. get the fuck outta here with that "kids shouldnt this or that" talk (fyi my 3rd grade was ~1994 or so; no smartphones/internet)
    • [ – ] imJustJosh parent reply Honestly, if I were given the chance to watch other people explain or talk about their own sexualities when I was younger, it would have caused a lot less harm and confusion as I grew up. Channels with full on education explaining the different sexualities were blocked, literally educational videos so I'm not sure what there is to hide about that
      • [ – ] iTone parent reply yes exactly, if i would've had the opportunity to learn about sexuality like kids now a days can. I wouldn't have been so confused and afraid to be who i am. YouTube really needs to get it together because educational videos shouldn't be filtered because they fall into a certain category.
        • [ – ] girlreadingbooks parent reply Only problem though is the whole sex-identity issue and the spreading of misinformation. For example: Ya know, except in rare cases, there are only two biological sexes. Identify as a girl or a boy who dresses a girl or whatever on the spectrum, but your doctor will treat you as one or the other either way.
          • [ – ] iTone parent reply I can agree with the spreading of misinformation completely. But although a doctor treats you for one sex or another has nothing to do with how someone feels about themselves. That's a health issue that if not treated properly can lead to bad things. No offense but the doctor example is a bad one because people can identify however they want to despite how a doctor treats them.
            • [ – ] girlreadingbooks parent reply I agree, I guess what I'm saying is if you are a male, you will be treated for prostate cancer at X time in your life, as a female ovarian cancer, etc. My point is exactly that GENDER identity is a spectrum, not SEX - I think you would agree, right?
        • [ – ] imJustJosh parent reply Ash Hardell makes a ton of educational videos (idk if you know them) about sexuality and gender and everything and ALL of those educational videos are blocked. So whenever I hear someone say 'oh but its for schools and libraries' I'm just like ??? what is your definition of education??
          • iTone parent reply no never heard of them but I commend that for doing that. yes exactly i'm really curious to know what most peoples definition of education are because I can guarantee that most people have the wrong idea of it.
  • Craftwithcookies reply Paul's videos are showing up for me for some reason
  • JadeJicama reply That awkward moment when the video ends 'With us on Youtube' but you're on Vid.me watching... And for the record, I went to Youtube to look up Mundane Matt's video that you did a response to yesterday, to kind of peruse the comments, and I saw your response video listed in the suggestions box, so, maybe it just missed that?
  • Hoshi-Hana reply I didn't know it was that bad with YouTube, but it does explain a lot of things. The restricted mode doesn't work if it isn't applied to every channel with content which could be inappropriate. In truth it should be called "selective mode".
  • FreshTechTV reply There has definitely been a transition taking place on youtube and it impacts many people negatively, sad to see where it has gone
  • wearegods reply That moment when PewDiePie manages to red pill the fuck out of 50+ million people about how batshit crazy the mainstream media is. XD
  • robotman5 reply good points :O
  • gamingandtech reply youtube was awesome but they make a lot of stupid decisions its great to have an alternative like vidme around.
  • JD-Green--Gaming reply I starting to lose faith in YouTube now
  • Icybubba reply This comment section style is like the old YouTube version without the Google+ crap
  • Cellblock776 reply My problem with Vidme is that I am having problems viewing the videos on this site on my computer. For instance, I can see this video talking about YouTube but am unable to watch the next video from this channel discussing the London Attack. The player settings appear to need some work.
  • Cellblock776 reply Glad you came over. I actually came over because Pastor Joe Fox had similar issues and he opened a Viking Preparedness channel here. I plan to move my Cellblock776 channel here too. In fact, the reason I have not put out any new prepper/patriot themed videos lately was because of YouTube filtering problems. I hope to see more of my favorite channels move here.
  • gumbino reply very well put out video
  • VantaDioxide reply So many comments
  • blgdoesthings reply First vid on vid me that I've watched
  • JustABloke reply I wouldn't worry about a thing, I went to YT to get away from mainstream TV. If they turn mainstream as you say, I've already found my alternative right here, and I'm happy with it. I think it is a huge mistake on their (YT) part, let's be honest, the creators made YT not the other way round.
  • Sharpwing reply I'm perfectly fine with sharing the internet with mainstream media outlets, but I am not fine with them abusing the rules and trying to push us out of the picture when we deserve to be here too.
  • Big_Dave reply As a member of the LGBT community, we want to indoctrinate all your children, regardless of age. J/K
  • IAmMute reply So depressing. I hate all this.
  • The_ColeSparks reply I'll ask you this Question; Does Fire come out of Thy Buttocks? Also this post will become irrelevant in the next 5 Minutes, so enjoy it while you can. (And no, this is a comment from alternative version of this video; it's the same video with a lots of fart & dancing 20 Year-Olds outside of a Walmart Parking Lot, which is probably YouTube doing right now while these problems exists.)
  • wright_natalie reply this is a very interesting take on the restriction. great content!
  • Old_Reaper reply Bitcoin will be the bank
  • Chaos reply great video man!
  • [ – ] Vossi_46_gaming reply I personally will continue to upload to youtube but i think as a small channel that my best option is to grow using sites like vid.me and others. Youtube is too corporate now and small and controversial channel are being pushed away from youtube, it's a shame but youtube is gone to real video creators
  • Brotacular reply YouTube nowadays is just a giant mess? Am I right?
  • David_Rockefeller_from_Hell reply this set up is way better looking than youtube as well
  • Naturenerd1000 reply They are trying to stop people from seeing PewDiePie?!! Seriously! That is a new low.
  • rumjar86 reply What's your thoughts on FaceBook getting into video streaming? Good video btw. keep them coming.
  • MarzieMalfoy reply YouTube shouldn't be responsible for restricting age unless the creator makes it age restricted... THAT IS THE PARENTS JOB TO KNOW WHAT THEIR CHILD IS DOING ON THE INTERNET AND EDUCATE THEM ON HOW TO PROTECT THEMSELVES!
  • Disparu reply I had only heard in passing about this and tbh, had not thought it a big deal. I had no idea that the effects were so widespread as to wipe out ENTIRE CHANNELS. I assumed it simply scanned for things such as swearing or keywords like sex etc. This video was really eye opening. I had always thought youtube and pewdiepie were in each others pockets. He makes them a lot of money, so they throw him a lot of views. Google has always liked big brands in both their search and youtube. But I guess like there is always a bigger fish, there is always a bigger brand.
  • BrittanySmokes reply This is crazy guys. Youtube isn't out for the creators at all.. they think that they're untouchable now that they have daddy Google. Let's make vidme successful.
  • WinterCross1 reply I stop using youtube to upload my videos because i put that i don't own the song and everything youtube still went after me for it
  • GeneralThuum reply YouTube is having a lot of issues; comment section not loading in app, video info not loading in app, frequently buffering, crashing, freezing, & stuttering on browsers. Not updating videos as "watched". It's a mess. I'm definitely going to start using alternative content providers.
  • StudzMuffinz reply Any idea on a solution for this censorship besides jumping onto a new platform? I think this is a viable option: boycott YouTube, vidme has a great platform, feeling like YouTube's early striving days, maybe YouTube will realize how much it's truly bleeding and is killing itself trying to satisfy the mainstream media. So far vidme is growing at a huge rate and I think if YouTube want's to save itself is to actually listen to the people and not where the money/mainstream censorship is coming from. Just gotta hope vidme doesn't turn into YouTube or google buys them out.
  • sandia_mesa_mlh reply I think the biggest issue for us, creators, is that: 1. They're completely refusing to answer any of our questions about the restricted mode system, and the system itself is a very much vague and one-size-fits-all. 2. YouTube TV might put a lot of pressure on creators who take a lot of time to do their work, like us. In that, if we're forced to compete with mainstream on this, who's probably gonna try to be on 24/7, we'd just be either airing the same thing or creating short content that is rather lower quality. Awesome video, man! - Sean King
  • nexxtmediaguide reply you have an interesting accent. Where is it from> when you say 'any' sounds like 'annie'.
  • DanRoot reply Really fascinating, great video. I was emailed by Vidme directly to sign up, and they'd referenced specific videos of mine, it was really personalised! I'm right on board from now on. But yeah, much of what YouTube does it basically them admitting that they can no longer control their own platform.
  • civilstockOZ reply Thanks for so much great work Dave. Will be around for it all. I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve don't worry. There isn't a way out for them that's their main problem really. So we need to give them a way out. A way out, right into the handcuffs. I don't believe that we are a minority so this needs to be kept in mind always. The consistent and high value postings of exposing of the crime and criminals IS the KEY action. There are other organizations such as CCHR International which are putting away psychiatrists(KEY), and individuals like you who are top journos and leaders. Altogether we will crush them, BUT at every step they will promote we are losing. Whenever we EXPOSE them, they will wail in protest, ignore them. Educate your family especially, on their civil responsibility and enforce it as a family member. Know that you are responsible, there is no one else to defer to. Uninformed family members are now your responsibility.
  • ordermind reply I like this better than Minds.com simply because here you can easily get a feed of ONLY your subscribed creators instead of all the promoted content on minds.
  • Monticue reply While I wouldnt say this kind of theory is out of the realm of possibility. I feel like much of the problems us youtubers are facing are related to the mere over saturation of youtubers out there. I cant personally speak for alternative news sources, but youtube gaming in my opinion is growing, they are dumping a lot of money into live streamers and let's players right now. Dont get me wrong youtube is all kinds of messed up, I have been dealing with an adsense problem and havent once been able to talk to a living person. I think it is a safe bet to put your content on other less regulated platforms like vidme (its why I'm here) but I am not quite sure I am ready to subscribe to the idea that youtube has it out for anyone who isn't main stream media. Excellent video I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!
  • Vahldra reply I have "restricted mode" turned off, what exactly is stopping people from simply leaving it turned off? They've been doing these things for years now, giving people the tools and options available to them to not see content that they don't want to see yet they never use them. If somebodies comment for example is found to be offensive by somebody, they never /mute/ ignore or /block said individual. They never even use their own text filters that are available to them that they could use to censor certain words that they don't want to see. These people are just mentally stunted, that's the only possible explanation for this. There is only so much they can get away with claiming innocent ignorance on that it reaches the point of being unreasonably ignorant.
  • Roaside_Rick reply Man I haven't watched you since 2014 good to see your still kick hows little dave ?
  • he_is_not_funny reply all your video is made irrelevant by the existence of idubs and filthyfrank ........... there is no youtube censorship, they cannot stop crap
  • billmarion reply I totally agree with what you're saying, but the real test is if it works. If people aren't watching it, it's a waste. People go where there content is. Won't people just gravitate to other platforms for better content? I hope so.
  • Directionally_Challenged reply I don't know if you will even see or read this, but I'm a small youtube gaming channel, I know I cuss in some of my videos, But I have over 200 videos. In youtube restricted mode I have 4. JUST 4. Videos i KNOW i cuss in and swear in... but just 4. No one cares about someone like me though, the small guy. EVERYONE is getting hit man... it sucks that youtube doesnt seem to give a shit about the little guy :\
  • c_arnold03 reply Plenty of alternatives are growing. Dailymotion.com, vid.me, vimeo.com, bitchute.com, and I imagine more will be developed.
  • TFKnight reply Now that I've heard of this, I am glad I left Youtube. Had I stayed they would have probably made my stuff even less noticeable.
  • IAmMute reply A very scary situation for sure.. I really hope Vidme or a similar platform can rise to success. It has many improvements it needs to make before then though. :/
  • Vejestorio reply Just joined, like many others that have just watched the YT restricted mode video. Keep up the great work David.
