  • [ – ] BrianAiya reply You don't write down a list??? That's interesting. You don't need to listen to me but I think it's safer to have a notebook to write down lists of topics because you know...You never know when Creator's block will hit. That's would be a nice topic. Creator's block ;)
  • [ – ] CrazyRocky reply I FEEL SO SPECIAL CUZ THIS WAS MY QNA QUESTION UGH DANIEL I'M YOUR BIGGEST FANGIRL
    • danielamann parent reply Hahaha so glad I could make you fangirl over me dude ;D Hopefully I answered your question in a way that helps understand me a little better! Sometimes I think I may, but other times I think I might just ramble on and nobody will get it! HA!
  • [ – ] KayToons reply Does anyone in real life (besides your girlfriend) follow you one here and watch your videos? Or are they all just call you the drone guy, haha
    • [ – ] ShinyBigBoo parent reply I follow @danielamann in real life Great followee, rarely turns around
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply I do get called drone guy a lot hahaha! Outside of that, yeah I know a couple people, mostly family. Both my parents are a couple big supporters. They both like the vlog, bounce tons of ideas off of me about what is going on, give me criticisms, etc. They've helped me a lot. My brother also watches me, though not positive he keeps up on it every day -- I think he does. My brother set it up so my grandparents watch too on their laptop together and it's a good way for them and I to keep in touch a little more cause they get to see me every day! Something to talk about for us too. I think a couple people from school also tend to keep up with me, but not so sure about that, maybe just an episode here or there.
  • [ – ] Betelcrux reply Nice video man, smooth and precise editing. I'm glad I gave Vidme a chance, so I could find this channel. I can see you're posting your vlogs only here now, that's nice. For what I can see, the community is less toxic around here. I created this account only to check how Vidme is, but maybe I'll stick around (I've been procrastinating to start posting on YT for quite a while). BTW, you definitely earned a follower.
    • danielamann parent reply Hi there! Welcome to Vidme and to my channel! I really appreciate you showing up here and for such nice things you had to say about my videos! That means a lot! The community here is wonderful, and there are tons of great creators as well. I think you will find Vidme a good place to spend some time =D
  • [ – ] theoldsparrow reply That's a great shot of the sunset. You can tell that the topics you bring up don't feel scripted. That makes it more genuine. In my videos I like the control of having a script because I tend to get confused easily and the script keeps me on the ball but that's just what works for me. The script is genuine and if I can relay that then I've made a good video in my eyes.
    • danielamann parent reply Thanks @theoldsparrow I'm glad that you can tell its genuine and just strait from the heart and mind. Definitely think that scripting is really good for a lot of people and a lot of situations, and still can be super genuine...so I didn't mean to knock that idea at all, because I think it really is a great thing for tons of content. All I meant was that for my vlogs in particular it would feel wrong for me. Thanks for stopping by as always, and I'm glad you enjoyed
  • [ – ] crissymoss reply I'd like to know what you use for editing. I've only been using movie maker (because it's free and on my pc) and it just doesn't work as well as I'd like. I'd like to be able to put music in my vlogs and stuffm
    • danielamann parent reply I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro and I love it, but it comes at a cost. If I didn't get student discount because I'm a university student it would have been difficult to justify the cost, so fortunately I at least have that on my side!
  • [ – ] Chuckle reply Amazing scenery you ended with Daniel!
    • danielamann parent reply Thanks! I'm very lucky to live where I do in such a beautiful place! It makes my life a lot easier when trying to capture the beauty of the world around me
  • [ – ] FreshTechTV reply I've been watching your videos for a little while and don't know why I never click follow.... lets change that 👍🏾
  • [ – ] SamEarl13 reply I don't really have any clue what content I plan to do, I tell myself I'm going to do one thing but end up doing something completely different lol. Cool seeing how a camera drone works, I personally wouldn't get one because they're expensive and its boring around here.
    • danielamann parent reply Yeah I end up switching back and forth between ideas and sometimes my topics go somewhere else completely too. Weird how it works! I have a lot of fun flying my drone, but they are really expensive to get ones that are nice
  • [ – ] YourSugoiStrwbry reply I put butter on bagels sometimes, am I weird?
  • [ – ] MrATAndreiThomas reply Anyway nice Drone dude, it remains me when I played call of duty black ops 2.
  • [ – ] MrATAndreiThomas reply Ah now video topics I reasonably learned back in spring 2015 with the SEO strategies and the fact you have research what people are searching for on the Internet which is not easy but if you put in the right keywords that are related to the right topic it should take you to the right direction.
  • [ – ] iJimUK reply I am kind of surprised that you dont at least have a small note book to jot down ideas as they happen. I must have about 5 diaries and notebooks just in case I have an idea. I usually write the idea and then notes on what I will say, play with the outline and then ad lib the whole thing once the camera is turned on. Yeah, I too think a vlog on Creators block would be cool
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply Yeah for me so far it has just worked better to essentially "wing it" every video.. Who knows though, that might change in the future!
      • [ – ] iJimUK parent reply Hey, it is obviously working for you, as long as you have an idea what it is you want to talk about, and every one of your vlogs so far has a point, a message to get across, something which is not easy to do when you do Dailies
  • [ – ] opaxel1967 reply Hi there Daniel , at first I wasnt going to follow your videos .. but , cant help but to like your style .. have a question , where abouts on this planet are you ? Love to fly that drone , not a 10 dollar version for sure lol .. but over here of course to many restrictions Have a nice week-end !
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply Well thanks! I really am glad that you enjoy my videos even though you didn't think you would! That's pretty cool to hear! I'm in the Northwestern section of the United States. This drone is a really nice version, the DJI Phantom 4, and I can fly it only certain places, but enough to be really happy with it!
  • [ – ] BrassCandy reply Oh man lists are my life. If I come up with a video idea, it's on my phone or a piece of paper 😂 I'll accumulate a couple dozen and boil them down to 5 or 6 really good one.
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply See, I've never been that kind of person. I've tried lists and they just don't help me the way they help other people. I guess we all just have to do what works best for us =D
      • [ – ] BrassCandy parent reply The big reason is because if there's a REALLY good scene or concept, I don't want it to slip from my memory or I'll forever be sad that the idea will never see the light of day xD
  • [ – ] Fandomlife reply And I agree. I am seeking a sense of communication and community from my videos. The follower count is secondary, though they are obviously related.
  • [ – ] Fandomlife reply I must admit I have tried numerous formats with my vlogs. Weekend snapshots of what I am doing during the day. Decides my life isn't that exciting. So I've also started to focus on topic / story focused vlogs as that works better for me as I can work with subjects / narrative and tend not to like the 'I did this and this' vlogs unless your life is incredibly exciting. Now I've shifted to that I am much happier with them and, oddly, they get made more often. Not up to one a day yet.
    • danielamann parent reply I think having a topic for your vlog makes it a lot easier to have a focus on where you are going with a video and makes it easier to pursue a video in that manner. Daily videos are a blast but also a huge commitment you have to be ready for before you step in! Thanks for such a great comment! I appreciate you stopping by =D
  • [ – ] JustHypeVibe reply The drone is back with more actions!! And thank you @danielamann for giving tips on how to fly a drone. Someday I'm gonna buy one of those. :D
  • [ – ] MarzieMalfoy reply Topicception!!! How's this one... Have you ever had a teacher or someone you knew personally that inspired you and really impacted your life?
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply GREAT idea! I need to remember to do that sometime! =D Seriously I have ideas already flying through my brain of how I could do this!!!
      • MarzieMalfoy parent reply Awesome! Glad I could help :Dan Looks like you're getting a lot of other good ideas too. Can't wait to hear about those too :)
  • [ – ] scottwebb reply yeah when you have feedback from your audience you get a lot of new ideas and topics to vlog. I have to get ideas down since i dont have an audience right now but i have lots of ideas. just need to execute instead of continuing to only collect. lol
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply That's true, but just conversations with anyone will do! What do you talk about to other people just in general? That's where my ideas started originally and where they continue to grow and flourish now that I talk to even more people than every! Keep rocking dude! You'll get that execution down!
      • scottwebb parent reply True enough! I have been trying to organize my interests and the types of topics I may vlog. Essentially I am making my life my work and my work my life. And then documenting and sharing it along the way. There is so much change happening..so much disruption happening and coming fast. I just don't want to talk about all the same things everyone else talks about. I want to create and connect and give.
  • [ – ] Zimbo_Gamer reply discus your past and your future.
  • [ – ] ZacUlrichTV reply Great video Daniel ! You always do have the most helpful things to talk about! Keep it up!
  • [ – ] Wolfer reply A topic about topics...you run out of ideas already? :P
  • [ – ] roshugaming reply great vid man and great suggestions near the end it is good to push yourself (like I need to but I am to lazy at times lol)
    • danielamann parent reply Thanks so much!!! Glad that you got that takeaway from the video. It isn't easy to do all the time but it pays off for our content in the end if we can manage to do it! Thanks for stopping by =D
  • PutingPating reply Damn, Daniel
  • [ – ] rebeledgeentertainment reply I agree that creators should be setting trends and not following them. I definitely feel like the creators on Vidme have done that because we are allowed to be individuals and it's encouraged by the community which is amazing. You really do an incredible job of editing these vlogs maybe you already answered this and I haven't gotten the chance to see the video but when did you start getting into editing and why? Keep up the awesome work and look forward to your next video.
    • [ – ] danielamann parent reply Pushing trends can be difficult, and it's obvious when people are ahead of the game and setting the precedent. One of my biggest takeaways that I've learned since I started the vlog this year was that going my own way, pushing myself, and doing my own thing instead of trying to copy everyone else is when I really started to feel like I was making something better. As to your questions, I started making videos on January 1, 2017 as a promise to myself to learn something I had never done (video) because I already knew how to tell stories through my photography and my writing (journalism/ communications/ history/ philosophy student -- lots of writing) but I never had tried putting it together in video form. I jumped into premiere pro from the start and have undertaking the task that is learning editing -- I'm still very much a noob in that regard and continue to learn new things every day
      • [ – ] rebeledgeentertainment parent reply Thank you so much for your in depth response and answering my questions. It definitely shows your passion in your videos. I never have watched a vlog series the way you do yours and I think that is because you are not afraid to be an individual and showcase what makes you who you are. The writing and philosophy definitely shows up in your videos. You always tell a story in your vlogs which is why I enjoy them so much. I just restarted up with Premiere again recently. I was using iMovie for the longest time but needed better editing. Your videos definitely don't make it seem like your a noob but that's because of the time and effort you put into perfecting your craft. You definitely have a gift for speaking and it's so awesome that because of Vidme I was able to discover someone like yourself.
        • danielamann parent reply Duuuuude seriously big words coming at me from you. Thank you thank you thank you for all the kind things you just said. Seriously means a lot. The same thing right back at you, you definitely are doing your own thing and just being yourself making content you love. That's what caught me right away. Premiere was so hard at first. No idea what I was doing, what things meant, etc and I just dove headfirst. It's taken a lot of work but I'm pretty confident with it now and start adding more complex edits in more and more confident I can pull them off -- If you've ever got some good things you can point out I'm always down for learning more as well. I've come to love editing and even though its tedious sometimes, the final craft is well worth it ;D Thanks again man. Seriously can't say that enough. You are far too kind and absolutely made my day
  • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas reply Do you ever find yourself without a topic when it comes time to shoot the video? Or do you sometimes have too many ideas and you have to spread them out over several days? I liked all the drone footage! Slowly walking while out of focus toward the intro text was nice. The fountain shots were neat too. I love fountains! The people walking shots felt good as well. I like to give you feedback on the little things. It's cool that you are always looking for new angles to shoot from and things to capture. You obviously put a lot of time and effort each day into building a good video, even when you don't have much time or energy. Thanks for giving us something to look forward to!
    • danielamann parent reply Usually I do a pretty good job of coming up with stuff off the top of my head. I'm fortunate that I am quick like that, though sometimes that isn't all that you can rely on. To be honest a lot of ideas rush through my head that become less important to me down the line, and therefore they never work their way into the vlog even though I thought they would at one point. I love getting the drone up and I spent some extra time today trying to get some new types of shots that were different but felt like they fit. I had fun with it. I love the feedback, and all the nice things you always have to say. It means a lot to me and makes it all the more worth it =D Cheers friend!
  • [ – ] Techmike23 reply This is so interesting! And the shots you take are amazing! How do you get all these great shots!? I will have to try what you do with topics. I like how your videos feel like you are talking to us not reading the whole time. Golf instruction videos!? haha teach me your ways!
    • danielamann parent reply Hahaha golf instruction vlogs!?! I feel like I'd start limiting my market a bit ;D I just walk around with a camera all day and look for things that I think are creative and interesting to film. The world is our tapestry! What works for topics for me might not work for everyone, but I'd say give it a try =D
  • [ – ] tonygreene113 reply That fucking noise really grinds my gears when I land on your vids.
