Terapeak has made a change to it's "competitor research tool". In the past we could pull a product search, then click the icon of a person and we could see a breakdown of the top 20 sellers in that category.

In the past we could see seller name, total listings, successful listings, total bids, items sold, average price and sell through rating.
Apparently due to seller privacy it sounds as if eBay has said they don't want Terapeak sharing the seller names any longer. Because Terapeak is an eBay partner, ie eBay lets them in on the real data as opposed to the Amazon / Jungle Scout relationship where as Jungle Scout is estimates and not true or real time stats, Terapeak kind of has to respect eBays wishes if they want to keep getting that data.
This kinda sucks, I'm not a huge fan of it but the tool is still valuable. We can still see the top 20 sellers, we can still get an idea of the competition, the only thing we don't know is the actual sellers name.
Now this was helpful data to have. When we see someoen having success its good to see what they are doing that's working and that's something I used to do and recommended to you guys.
Unfortunately there's really no workaround to find out which seller is which stats, however its safe to say if you pull a search on eBay and click to show you only BIN or buy it now listings, it's probably safe to say one of the top 5 items is probably the largest seller.
Thanks to superfly for bringing this to my attention and just wanted to share the reasoning and what this means for you.
