  • [ – ] duffy reply Vidme staff here (for newcomers). Want you to know we all watched this video. First off, really thorough, comprehensive, and well-edited. As funny as it is, we take it seriously and we know you guys do too. You all know that Vidme is growing fast. Hopefully that means good things for everybody in the long run. But along with that comes growing pains and we agree there's room for improvement in several areas. For one, we're fighting against some bad eggs who game the system by spam following, spam upvoting, and creating sockpuppet accounts (we’re going to make it more clear in the rules that this is 100% not tolerated). We're a small team moderating a big community, so we rely on reports from you guys to help us with that...thank you. We're also devising ways we can get ahead of that stuff at a platform level. About team picks, we hear you and I’ll personally make sure Vidme staff picks are spreading the love to as many deserving creators as possible. The community is what makes ...moreVidme tick...and when you guys aren’t happy, we’re not happy. We literally don’t exist without you and a lot of the humans in this comments section are some of our day ones! We’re watching your videos (not just this one...all of ‘em), reading your emails, your comments, your tweets, your reddit posts. etc. You may not feel it moment-to-moment (that’s our fault), but I promise you we’re listening to every word. I know you guys want your receipts, so email me directly at duffy@vid.me and I’ll answer any questions/concerns you have. Or just reply here. Tbh, I might not have the firm answer to every question (no due date for analytics, for example, but we’re working on ‘em, I swear!), but I’ll give you the real with no “PR talk.” Cool? #praisebetorocky
    • Rawman parent reply RECEIPTS!!! yes!!! thats all we want is to feel like we are being heard. I never wanted to have the segmant in Community Injustice about the algorithm/"slight boost" and I try to email you guys to discuss things to avoid it (sorry for the SLIGHT blind side lol) but I waited for a very long time for answer, I know you guys are busy but I am losing patience with people treating our community like garbage and I wanted answers today (thanks for dealing with the one issue as stated in the video). We are happy you are dealing with the bad eggs. We know some people wanna stay in the dark with that stuff but the rest of us want that trash GONE! Thanks for watching this video in its entirety it means a lot to me. over 20+ hours editing and over 4+ weeks of writing was not gone to waste. I love the community and the team but we need our receipts. We just and answers of any capacity and a better connection with you guys because it helps us care and stay in control. Thanks again for watching a...morend responding. Thanks to the whole team. #PraiseBeToMarzie

    • [ – ] DevinSeviyn parent reply The horror community is really crippled here. With how YouTube's been with the horror community and how we get no love here either, it's giving me legit depression. I don't feel like I have a platform anymore. Although ReignBot(a horror YouTuber with a lot of subs) is about to do something to help out the smaller horror creators. Help, Duffy... I love it here.
      • Rawman parent reply Just make sure what they do is legit actually helping your community. We gotta keep them in check and make sure they are not just basically coming here and using us. I remember askagangsta was doing the shoutout stuff but it literally was pointless shoutouts to people who didn't earn (or deserve) it. It's up to them what they do but it can end up dividing.
    • [ – ] harlesbently parent reply I honestly have no idea what a sockpuppet account is. May be a newb to this.
      • [ – ] Rawman parent reply its where someone makes a second (3rd, 4th, 5th etc...) account to upvote their own content to increase its chance of going up trending.
        • [ – ] harlesbently parent reply Ah. Well that makes sense i spose. Didnt know people did this though. Must be desperate.
          • Rawman parent reply yeah they get very desperate but it doesnt make it fair. youtube fake likes doesnt do anything but here 10 of them is crazy!!
    • [ – ] JustHypeVibe parent reply As long as all the Vidizens Unite and the Vidme Cops will stay forever. Everything will be A ok for Vidme and the Vidme Team will eradicate this kinds of problems ASAP. 👍
      • [ – ] Rawman parent reply we have to do exactly what needs to be done no matter how risky, no matter how nasty and no matter how dramatic it might seem...we cant stand for any form of injustice or it will pollute the community.
  • [ – ] RoughPanic reply Rawmans gotta be one of the realest dudes here. Thanks a ton man.
  • [ – ] MarzieMalfoy reply The RECEIPTS! Are people still believing those diss tracks are real? Hey! I saw my thumbnail! And I saw my comment I left on the kitty kitty video! I'm FAMOUS!!!! lol/jk 10 people team can pick a big YouTubers video a few minutes after it publishes but the rest of us have to wait or just not get picked. "Trash bag gaming"? I wonder who that could be? I want REAL follows like I want RECEIPTS! Get rid of that follow back option and put in a cool down! Especially for the upvote button! Awwwwww!!!! "100% Community Malfoy" I love you so much!!! BEST FACE REVEAL EVER!! Had to go back and watch that twice! I'm still confused about hot score... actually I'm confuse at WHY it's there. It makes people more valuable than others and I came here bc I felt everyone was equal and had an equal chance. You know I'm not scared to support publicly. I don't feel like I should stand quiet just bc it would "hurt" my image. If people don't like what I gotta say, they can unfollow/unsub/they can roast me wh...moreatever. Love the ditty at the end! It was fun! Thank you for posting this! You're a gentleman and a scholar. This is my meaningful receipt! <3 #giveusourRECEIPTS #forsure #praisebetorawman
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply People judged that whole war from the outside and believe we are drama boys.. whatever though that is silly to judge without watching. Ohhh when I put on my TV haha. Yeah it stretches but it was there. Haha I was askagangsta the whole time. Even with my research and understanding of it... I still don't understand it! Exactly it clearly gives different values to creators based on being team picked and God knows what other engagements! Fantastic receipt thanks!!! #PraiseBeToMarzie
  • [ – ] rebeledgeentertainment reply Your channel is far from a drama channel. If legitimate criticism and discussion is drama than CNN must be the new "MadTV". Wait, that's not right CNN is "MadTV". Mirroring works even on smart tv's even without the Fire TV stick. You definitly showcased the problem when you do it though. YouTube is superior and viewers will win the platform war between Vidme and YouTube. Right now Vidme though is in development phase and isn't ready yet to take YouTube head on. Voldemort gaming definitly took advantage of the system. Fly by upvotes I agree can be minamalized by making people have to click on the video. Remove follow back from email, cool down and limit the number of people you can follow. At a certain point if someone is following over 10,000 or 1,000 followers is insane. We can watch big Youtubers on YouTube we don't need to watch them on VidMe. Big Youtubers can have 1 maybe 2 team picks to get traffic but when every video uploaded is team picked that's just stupid. #marzieteampicks....more Rawman as Askagangsta little glasses and big glasses was extremely funny. Props for trying the Merlin impression lol. Coming to a college near you a degree in "Vidme algorithms". Kill the slight boost now. Express yourself great video bro.
    • Rawman parent reply YOOOOO thanks!!! I been hearing im part of the drama crew but its ok I embrace it... hopefully people can see that my complaints come at the chance of a better community. hahaha CNN is madtv yeah i hear a lot about their craziness. i dont watch the news at all. for me the smart tv barely does the job....ill do it when i need to (late night binging my follow list or long videos). i personally feel yeah vidme as we know it right now but vidme has a LOOONG history from 2008 i done some research the other day it was pretty interesting what me and @Mugiwara_Necoke see. but yes vidme as we currently know it is not too old. I just personally feel if they expect us creators to give them content that is a good standard for viewers. treat us all as equals and be transparent with the mission statement. voldemort gaming hahaha i swear if someone makes that account i will laugh. they could use TWAV to say "oh btw Joey Trash Salads is here... watch his poo if you wanna depress your self..." o...morer a blog post to announce this weeks PooTubers... hahahah glad you like the PunkAGangsta and Merlin... #KillTheSlightBoost #MarzieTeamPicks #vidmefeaturetherogueedgeshow
  • [ – ] WolvenMedic reply This video pretty much sums up everything I've been feeling and saying to some peeps for months now. So thank you for bringing it to a wider audiences attention and letting me know I ain't the only one XD. Personally for me, my biggest annoyances is the 'fly-by' upvotes and the lack of comments in general. I know some people only upvote my content just because...maybe it's because they like me so they feel they have to. No idea. But it's extremely obvious and makes me feel no better about my content. Example, I've spent the past week (actually more) challenging myself to upload every day (which is an honest struggle for me) . Out of the 10 videos I've uploaded, I've received a total of 12 comments. Including self advertisers and those 'good video' comments. Most of which are all on the same videos which so happened to mildly trend. This makes creators such as myself feel like our content is worth next to nothing (even if mine is XD) especially when I express I want actual feedback. I...more want to improve, I can't do that without feedback. Only upvote my video if you watched it and enjoyed it. Sure I'll lose potential viewership but I need to know how I'm doing. We all do, right? As a community as a whole, we honestly need a more accurate form of analytics and more communication and transparency between staff and creators. Now don't get me wrong, full respect and all plus some of the changes I've really liked. I just would have much rather preferred I at least knew a bit about the changes before they happened. Would make us as a community feel more involved and a little part of it as well. And with the analytics, I understand implementing an advanced one like some of us are after would be pretty difficult at this stage. But we need to know who our audience is to help us grow. Sure some of us can chat together in discord servers but they aren't the only viewers we have. We need to know how are content is doing (honestly) to help us are creators improve. And I even know some people that aren't bothered for it and that's fine. But I know a lot of people do. At least let us know it's something they are seriously thinking about looking into in the future. Keeping your creators in the dark (this goes for any site) is a risky move. I understand some things need to be kept more quiet until further polished but not releasing information on some update plans until they are already out kinda defeats the the whole idea of keeping your creators in the loop. Even though my experience and channel on here have been on a significant downwards spiral since maybe end of February. I still love the site and respect the community. I want what's best for all creators even if I don't have much of a benefit from it myself. I'm waaaaay past that point. Sorry for making a blocky mess on your video again XD There's a lot I've been wanting to say, this doesn't cover even half of it. If any of this made any sense at all..... Your honesty is appreciated mate. Well done.
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply WOWWWW!!! ALL IM SAYING IS THIS RECEIPT IS SO GOOD YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS!!! #BestReceiptOnTV!!! I am so happy that I wasnt alone feeling this. well, im not happy that the community have dealt you a bad hand with fly by upvotes and trash comments because we dont want that garbage at all!!! yeah the fly by upvotes get me down, i 95% comment every video i watch (and will do until we get analytics). even when i watch on my TV i will type a comment on my phone lol. I understand you, pointless comments just remind us of that voice that tells us "you are trash" that the voice in our head is right and these bad interactions just put us there. i told people in my videos dont put trash comments and fly by upvotes that prove you didnt watch it. and the second i get a receipt that proves they flyby/dont watch i wont support them ever!! (not in a big headed way simply dont pretend to show support, your reaction is the perfect example of bad support come your way its upsetting). I...more think even a basic form of (accurate) analytics would help. if this "watchers" even was more accurate id take that! what they hell even is it. if they keep us in the dark we will all end up going away, and they they will be left with TempTubers who come for 2 weeks and go.. screw them punks. that is very noble of you to rather have better for your community than your self and i can respect that (i do it my self at the risk of my own channel haha. vidme staff will hate me after this but oh well... if marzie gets more respect, you, jason, anyone gets more respect my job will have been worth it...). I LOVE long replies and i love indepth conversation in the comments i really appreciate every single reply and comment. I try my best to rally the conversation as best as possible. honestly thanks infinitely for this. and if i ever start writing community injustice part 3... im coming to you. (already started writing it... shhh dont tell anyone....)
      • [ – ] WolvenMedic parent reply Oh wow, well I'm flattered XD Just wanted to get my opinion, someone who isn't really 'known' publicly and is a bit of a wallflower when it comes to these situations out. I honestly do feel strongly about these issues but my living situation and general life makes adding to conversations like this is a meaningful way hard. Especially when you're on a different timezone to the majority of the people having these conversation. Which I'm sure can be a struggle for you sometimes too :D Like @JennyFedora expressed in their video. We need a middle man. The site I stream to does exactly what they suggested in their video. It one ups it by actually hiring members of said community as staff so their literal job is to be that link between the main staff and the creators (or in this case streamers) and it works wonders. If vidme did something like that (not that they have the funds to pay for more 'staff') then at least it's a step in the right direction communication wise. Again, in their vi...moredeo they expressed featured creators being that middle man. I think that's certainly a great start, even if it means I lose my badge to it (as I expressed in their video also).
        • Rawman parent reply ANY OPINION is appreciated!!! please feel free to express anything... you are a godforsaken FEATURED CONTENT CREATOR!! i mean jesus christ this is ridiculous! and im glad you are saying your part so thanks for that. i have sleeping problems so this time right now is kinda normal for me haha. well i feel exhausted and because of other health issues this video almost destroyed me haha. took like 20+ hours to edit and i done it in a few days (crazy i know). plus i sat on the floor for the edit haha. @JennyFedora made a great point about the mediators and that would make a huge difference. ive had people come to me about editing and stuff and inbox me about general inquires because they know my name. even the other day someone tagged me so i would share his message (where i dont typically condone that sort of thing i didnt get a notification i actually searched for my name). if the featured creators could volunteer (even creators big in the community) yes it would be an amazing help an...mored step in the right direction.
  • [ – ] MFKraven reply -Yes, while I was tempted to make a Vidme vs Youtube video, it's like I cant compare em just yet. Vidme fits my agendas much better but game recognize game and I know Youtube is just much better still (as of right now) - I have to disagree with you there, the most hardest genre to make it on is gaming, just because we're so over-saturated with videos. -i agree on the watching smaller channels first before the Youtubers -that algorithm got me fucked up m8 lol i need to get on that hot score shit -i hope we get them receipts real soon!
    • [ – ] RoughPanic parent reply I'll never say my stuff is harder to make it with on vidme or anywhere really. I've got tons of respect for people who make gaming videos, as well as any other kind of video honestly. I know bunches of people work real hard at the stuff they make, and that's all cool in my book.
      • Rawman parent reply you wont say it but as someone who understands what its like to edit videos (never to your level) i know! i make gaming videos, and have done both heavily edited and lets plays non edited. it takes 100 times more effort to edit a video. sorry its just simple fact. its like an animator has to draw hundreds of frames to make a movie for a couple of seconds. would be like comparing an animation to a single drawing lol. unless it was the sistine chappel ceiling maybe that took a while haha. not saying lets plays are easy. just that the struggle of making the content doesnt even come close.
    • Rawman parent reply i only have an issue with vidme vs youtube when people say some generic nonsense that means nothing. I didnt know if you was joking with the gaming thing but i will take it literally. I can agree with that somewhat but people can make a lets play video in 20 mins and upload it (ok not literally but lets just simplify this for arguments sake lol). someone could make 30 lets play videos a month (non edited) but it would take rough panic 1 month to get 1-3 minutes of video. if you have 1 video a month vs 30 videos a month then its a lot less likely you will get discovered. yes the saturation thing. but the amount of effort to risk doesnt even come close! the hot score part would have been better with a visual but honestly it was to crazy and i was too burnt out making the video.
  • [ – ] Aaronshy reply Marzie deserves more attention than Joey Salads!!!!!
    • [ – ] MarzieMalfoy parent reply Thank you my friend :D
      • [ – ] Aaronshy parent reply Marzie I am just being honest. As I always am.
        • [ – ] MarzieMalfoy parent reply Well, I love your honesty :D
          • [ – ] Aaronshy parent reply I'm being honest on 2 levels. Being honest on how much I have loved your vids I've seen so far and on how awful Joey Trash Salads is.
            • [ – ] MarzieMalfoy parent reply Haha! Yeah, he is pretty awful lol
              • Aaronshy parent reply Course YouTube had awful people among their Youtubers for a long time. Glassjoe.....I know he had numbers in his name but everyone just called him Glassjoe......he would spread hate when his own vids were lousy.....if he wound up successful on Vidme than I'd really worry. Especially since every member of mastermax888s Knights Of The Great Legion including me couldn't stand his hateful actions and awful vids.
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply It's Joey Trash Salads to you haha.
      • [ – ] Aaronshy parent reply LOL. Yeah a deserving name. His vids were awful on YouTube yet alone on here! All Trash vids. LOL.
        • [ – ] Rawman parent reply hahahaha ALL!! lets make that clear.
          • [ – ] Aaronshy parent reply Yeah. Joey Trash Salads is no good. Marzie is way better. Least she tries hard.
            • [ – ] Rawman parent reply yeah she puts effort joey trash bags just ruins peoples days and thinks its funny.
              • [ – ] Aaronshy parent reply And even worst was Glassjoe before Joey Trash Bags Salad even existed. Glassjoe was basically a hate filled monster with very poorly done vids. Basically Joey Trash Bag Salads without the pranks and with an added bit of targeting Knights Of The Great Legion.
                • [ – ] Rawman parent reply OH GOD!! the trash goes waaaayyy back!
                  • [ – ] Aaronshy parent reply Well Joey Trash Bags Salad I didn't even see around when Glassjoe was around anyways. Think YouTube was a lot more innocent back than with only haters being the risk. It was before prank vids were common......before I started trying to do drawings of my own really....speaking of which my recent channel pics are my own artwork of my pony OC......I still need practice.
                    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply hahaha you will always be above trash salads even with bad drawing.
                      • Aaronshy parent reply I'm sure I'll do better pics. I keep trying after all and that's better than doing bad prank videos. Worst I did was watch DiceRollens vids and forgot I was recording.
  • [ – ] BedtimeGaming reply As a big Vidmer, cus I have 300 followers, so my comment matters, this video is good, and well thought out. Rawman is funny and entertaining, you heard it from a big Vidmer. Unfollowed, I wasn't mentioned.
  • [ – ] Tentacle reply Long-ass comment awaits: I don’t feel like I am your target demographic, but I came across your vid via the sub-reddit and thought I’d leave my two cents or receipts as you call them as someone looking in and trying to get into the site. Topic – “YouTube vs VidMe” The reality of things is the pandering (To VidMe) begun on twitter and ended up going full scale on the site itself. Just look at the categories section, we managed to get a “VidMe” tab before we got something as basic as “Sports” or “Fashion”. How are diverse creators meant to highlight what they make when there aren’t even categories for such wide-spread subjects? Kicking down YouTube... Well it’s full blown encouraged. How do I know this? I had a near hour long call with a staff member from VidMe who claimed “It was done for the community” which itself is ironic as it’s only done it more harm in the long-term. In terms of applications, mobile is the largest market for streaming services ...morenow to the point that YouTube intends on redesigning its website again to look even more like the mobile layout. Over 60% of YouTubes average viewership comes from people via tablets and smartphones now. Sadly TV is not priority but still a noteworthy mention. ___ Topic – Fake accounts / Sock puppets It’s something that is difficult to moderate but highly noticeable within smaller communities; happens on reddit, YouTube and more. Issue is as the site grows, how does one go about pointing it out without sparking “drama” as seen on YouTube? A clear-cut moderation or report system would be nice because the current system blows. ___ Topic – Fly by Up-Votes Didn’t even consider this prior to watching and I agree that the up vote feature should only be within the video itself. Smart call out. ___ Topic – Featured / Hot Picks / Trending Well ever since DidYouKnowGaming has shown up they’ve had nearly every upload featured so... I don’t think the practise is going to change anytime soon, especially as more large scale channels or outlets join the website. I suspect for marketing reasons, Vidme is trying to establish its handful of “home grown” talent as a means of promoting the website to investors. Much like how iJustine and such got manufactured by Google back in 2011. I rarely watch the Hot Picks or Trending tabs because as you said, it’s the same names. As for the boosting method mentioned? Just confirms the idea of manufacturing home grown talent. ___ Topic – Comments I rarely comment because my experience with YouTube has shown that any critical feedback results in either a passive aggressive “thanks” or I got mobbed by fanboys for daring going against the status quo. ___ I think changes can be made, they can be implemented. But how long are people going to willingly hold out and listen to the same statement and false promises again and again. Had years of that with YouTube, it’s a dangerous game to play with what limited numbers are sticking around here. Keep speaking up and engaging with the problems man, best of luck to you.
    • [ – ] UnarmoredForce parent reply I hate it that sports/fitness is under lifestyle. That category was full of MGTOW the last time I checked, then a few cuisine and traveling videos were scattered around along with the odd sports video. Vidme definitely needs more categories in my opinion. I want my videos listed next to other sports/fitness videos instead of a sea of other topics! I also want it to be easier for me to find other creators who do similar stuff, so there would be a more coherent fitness community on vidme, but that's just me.
      • [ – ] Tentacle parent reply I am a huge wrestling fan and it would appear many others are since the "Podcast" category is just swarmed with content related to it. Which in turn hurts pretty much every other podcast on this site not dedicated to the squared circle. Sports, despite mass appeal apparently aren't as valued here compared to pandering to the site owners.
        • UnarmoredForce parent reply At first I saw the Vidme category as a place where you can post community oriented stuff, but I guess it has become a bit of a place where people either hype or hate, or something in the middle.
      • Rawman parent reply categories within the categories? yeah there needs to be a wider range of catagories, on youtube this is a HUGE issue. people abuse categories to get popularity on their content. putting non gaming videos in gaming because its the most popular category.
    • Rawman parent reply I WELCOME LONG COMMENTS!! PLEASE DO THEM!! i might take a while to reply because there is like 10 long comments. (BUT WOOF YOU PRINTED OFF THE WHOLE PAPER FOR THIS RECEIPT!!) I think my audience for this video was anyone who wants equality or anyone who wants fairness and balance in the community. anyone who wants to create great content and get discovered. hahaha wow that actually made me laugh haha a vidme tab before fashion and sports that is true!! WHERE IS THE CULTURE!!! they deny that its encoureged yet they reward videos such as "im now vidme exclusive" and "youtube vs vidme". oh sorry my bad i didnt intend to come across that they should have TV as a priority its just thats how i consume my media 90% and the fact that smart tvs now come installed with youtube is crazy lol. Its not possible for me to determine 100% without fact if someone is cheating but for vidme to determine that. this one dude was very bad at hiding his cheating haha. but yeah like @Mugiwara_Necoke said...more we want more tools. I dont expect them to stop featuring every single video from every youtuber....but atleast feature MORE exclusive creatores/featured channels. if they are trying to promote the home fgrown they need to prove it...i see them in some blogs show some but thats just some... well they are clearly (lets assume unintentionally) manufacturing growth but its not necessarily the home grown talent. @Mugiwara_Necoke aint seen a team pick and his content is sensational!! i encourage feedback and constructive criticism because i want to bring good content. i like to believe this type of video would be hard to critique haha jokes. but yeah as its a community video i like to believe that this is for the benefit of us all. im glad you decided to comment on this. this receipt is phenomenal. thanks. i will try to keep speaking up and i always have reservations with this series because its scary but I have to not be scared to try improve things.
  • [ – ] CrazyRocky reply God I love u
  • Rawman reply Ok...thanks for watching...I feel so worried about dropping this video, been working on this for ages. Actually a lot of this was meant to be in part 1. I was NEVER happy with that trending issue... NEVER!!! @SamEarl13 i used your tip in one of the screens, thanks for that. @poopishere this is the video we spoke about. hope you enjoy it. i have risked my reputation to make discovery/trending a lot more fair. @danielamann thanks for saying that stuff...I will pay you later. (obvious joke!) Thanks to everyone for support.. ALSO PEOPLE. Please ask me questions for a QnA. Anything you want.
  • [ – ] VGJustice reply I feel like I've only got one nitpick with the video, and that's how YouTube is better "for viewers". Which is what I am, a consumer and not a producer. And after all the garbage that's been going on over there, I feel like I'm being kicked out as well. People I follow over there get their videos blocked in my subscription feed so I never see their content. I know that a lot of the people I follow are such small channels that they're struggling to get by. Channels just get wholesale deleted by YouTube staff for no reason and with no warning, or demonetized for the same. With all the problems with the trending tab here, at least I feel like the stuff trending here is actually doing that. Mechanically, YouTube is better. Sure. But too much of YouTube is built on lies and obfuscation for me, as a viewer, to feel like I'm getting a good experience.
    • Rawman parent reply honestly my experience as a viewer has never ever changed. im sorry you experienced that stuff but i never did. the channels i follow may have recently lost on some money. and yeah at one point @IHE_Official got removed but my viewing experience has been pretty much exactly what i expected. not saying that stuff doesnt happen i know it does. but i never experienced it and that stuff in my eyes is creator issues which i dont deny is a big issue.
  • [ – ] UnarmoredForce reply The one thing I don't like about vidme's trending algorithm is that videos die way too fast if the channel doesn't have enough followers to keep it afloat, if you're thinking about growing your channel through trending. On youtube your video is alive for 3 days usually before it's considered old by the algorithm there, on vidme it feels like a video that is 6 hours old could be considered dead if it doesn't meet an upvote/comment/interaction quota. Like even if a small channel makes a good video and "markets" it well, it could become one of the top results within a specific search term, if it proves itself relevant during the 3 day period. That way a good video will stay alive for as long as it remains relevant even if the channel doesn't have a massive subscriber base. On vidme, even if you try to make videos that are relevant to your channel's audience, it doesn't have that great of a chance to get noticed compared to other creators who might use the same topic. Imagine a channel ...moreall about "towel reviews" and it has the best towel reviews on vidme, but has only 10 followers. Even if these followers are active and a couple of them upvote n' comment: "Hey, great towel review, I'll get myself one the next time I visit ********". The videos could get buried within the posted category by larger channels posting in that category also if someone searches with the term "towel" and a larger user who hashtags his farming vlogs with the word towel, that will also bury the amazing towel reviews quite quickly. Effectively leaving future towels unreviewed!!! That was a bit of an absurd example, but I hope I made my point about vidme's current algorithm. I'm starting to ramble though.. I still want to make a comment about follow for follows. I personally like to be active, I go around upvoting videos I enjoy quite easily and don't scrooge with my upvotes. I usually leave a comment as well, usually I try to be as constructive as possible. I like interacting with people in the comment sections. I follow people with the criteria that if I want to be able to see their videos on my front page or I want to be able to enjoy more of their videos I do. Sometimes I don't follow some people since even if I enjoy a couple of their videos I don't necessarily get the need to watch them on the reg. I don't like to scrooge with my support either, I am prone to following smaller channels or supporting channels within my niche. I don't expect follow backs. Eitherway, I do follow as many people as I can in the community on twitter, because it's a different medium. I'd like to interact with people and I want to be able to get into conversations. But sometimes even that is rare on twitter.. Now I'm really rambling, enough of this! How's this for a receipt?
    • Rawman parent reply yeah it feels like it has a very short life here i agree. it seems that for a lot of channels under 100 followers. not sure if comments come into it or not. SEO on youtube does work fantastic but on vidme because of the current algorithm its very unlikely that you will increase chance of discoverbility with great SEO. and because of this like you said, a channel based on tower reviews cant compete with a bigger channel because how the current algorithm favours upvotes and not SEO. haha towel unreviewed!! that is fantastic!! its great to interact with the community and show people support by commenting with meaningful and well thought out comments. i dont advise you follow someone off one video, i advise you follow someone who stays with your mind and has content you relate too. yes it can be risky to go, ill wait till i next see them but its better to do that than follow and never interact then unfollow. 10/10 receipt!!! FANTASTIC!!! thanks!!
  • [ – ] theoldsparrow reply I'm not sure what to say. Brain's not working at 100% this morning but I do want to give a good receipt. The follow for follow thing is my personal pet peeve as I would much rather interact with my followers than not. It's the main reason I'm here. I really enjoy talking to people and it gives me this weird contradiction in my head of the number of followers and whether they're actually liking my videos. Makes me second guess myself when I get an obvious follow for follow. Like do all these people like me and my content or is it just ten percent of the people following me that do. I need to refocus on the people that comment in my videos because that's qualitative instead of the numbers but I'm not immune to statistics. The solutions you mentioned would go a long way to fixing the problem. Also @MarzieMalfoy definitely needs to be team picked. I know a lot of people are championing her cause (for all the right reasons) but she really deserves the recognition. She's gotten so far just ...moreon hard work alone.
    • Rawman parent reply yeah i understand you man that is perfectly logical. you want to actually have people you can not just put a number to but a name and a personality (sometimes face and voice). thanks and i hope that they do decide to address these issues because as creators its giving us a false sense of hope and the true future for a lot of us doesnt look good. when these follow for follow guys inflate numbers then that causes channels to look like they are dead channels. @MarzieMalfoy needs recognition yes sparrow! 100% true. i think with the simple slight boost removal (if they ever decide to) then a lot more channels will rise up.
    • MarzieMalfoy parent reply Thank you so much Sparrow! *hugs*
  • [ – ] BrianAiya reply First of all, it love that dopamine kick when i see your vids in my feed xD you bastard, you don't always upload (ehem, i can't be hypocritical) but i appreciate when you do upload it's always a well thought out, edited and a strong message with the hint of comedy (my taste of what is good content). Yea, sometimes i also things that some BIG Yters don't really need the team picks because their vids will naturally get to trending without the team pick help, like Ami Yamato, everyone can see that she puts a lot of effort in her vids, so i believe that her vids will be in trending organically since people can sense that it's good quality. Yea, uptrend is hilarious, teasing us with the crazy predictions that we will have millions of followers in 1 year lol. The comments are our only analytics now, when someone comments and talk about the video, we get an idea on how far through the video they watched, unlike the "hey nice vid" or "damn Drama!" which shows that they didn't watch it thr...moreough the end. Seeing the Vidme staff or viewers leave comments that they obviously watched the whole vid is the best and only valuable analytics we have now. I hope @vidme uses the This week in Vidme and their Blog to explain more on what's going, not everyone uses Reddit, I just got active in reddit JUST because of r/vidme, and only creators like us really have an idea of what's going on in the community and are up to date, but normal viewers and creators here don't have any idea where to look for answer. Vidme is a video platform, so they have to use video to communicate with us, that's what YT did wrong, they are the Biggest Video platform, but they still use their blog to address some news, I know vidme has the @vidmeAMA so atleast to use @vidme to upload the funny and entertaining vids like This Week at Vidme and use @vidmeAMA for more creator focused Q&A like how YT separates Youtube and YoutubeCreators because i'm sure everyone is emailing duffy and the team with the same questions. Great video dude, the videos you think that will make you lose followers most of the time end up being the one that gives a slight boost to your channel ;) (unless you are making prank vids, if you think this idea will make you lose followers, you are probably right lol)
    • Rawman parent reply WOW THIS IS A GOD DAMNED WONDERFUL RECEIPT!!!!!! haha i get the same dopamine kick from your videos so that is a unbelievably huge compliment thanks ever so much! haha yeah i learned from you to never upload much but when you do to bring the 100% heat!! i think her videos will 100% hit top of trending without assistance that is true. well we wouldnt actually know because we havent seen it.. :P haha. uptrend.tv says some crazy stuff ive seen your one it was NUTS!!! lol. yeah in this video i got some seriously fantastic analytics this is unbelievable! its killing me to reply to all but im trying my best haha. yeah you carry reddit! you are a superstar there ive seen it. TWAV is the perfect medium to reach every single regular and active user (pretty much). hahahahaha fantastic SLIGHT BOOST in my channel ha!!! yeah this show always scares me because how strong opinionated it can be. thanks for the phenomenal receipt! #aiyaishusbandmaterial
  • [ – ] Westley_Nash reply This is a very encouraging video 👍 This is why I gravitated to VidMe in the first place, as I saw a potential for somewhere where users can get together on common topics & seek discussion to find a solution to problems that affect us all. You have presented one of the most comprehensive & well formulated articles I have watched (& no I'm not kissing ass, I'm giving credit where it's due 😉) Because It's easy to just point out problems (so easy that many thousands do) but offering solutions to those problems is where the real standard is set. We like Vid.Me but we can't just ignore the issues, how can anything improve its strength without first knowing it's weaknesses. You Sir are just what Vid.Me needs because you are encouraging us to all get involved to help make Vid.Me a success.
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply eyyy thanks! im glad its encouraging! i just think we all deserve to have an understanding and it seems that everyone i asked didnt know at all! so from these comments it shows that things need to change. wow thanks that is a fantastic compliment! i always try to bring something new and interesting to the table on topics. like i said i could just go off the cuff but each day you think different things. you know lol. again wow!! thanks! i just am here to try to protect the integrity of the site and make things fair for all. we want to be on the same page. we might not agree with each others methods but the results are what matters. hopefully vidme sees us and understands we want vidme to have a future...hey.. imagine i done a future of vidme video hahahaha.
      • [ – ] Westley_Nash parent reply No problem at all 👍 It's true, we criticise to improve, not to destroy. Vidme needs users as invested in the platform as the creators. If we actually managed to establish such a harmonised union, how could it not succeed? 😎
        • Rawman parent reply yes! if they had the same loyal fanbase of users as they do creators it would be a game changer! it would 100% succeed with unity and with cooperation. it already is...but communication is fleeting and we need that back. viewers probably come here and go... eh... i seen these guys on youtube might aswell go there lol.
  • [ – ] QuasarGaming reply Haha, I Didn't expect to see the hodge twins
  • [ – ] TheCynicalCypher reply I definitely agree and see issue with a lot of the topics you bring up in this video. Firstly, the elephant in the room being that one guy that did the stuff that has been erased off the face of the earth, or so it seems. I feel like this actually damaged the community a lot more than people think. Like you mentioned, there's no telling what it is he did with that power. And since him and I were talking and basically friends, I think that he may have actually used some of those accounts on me looking back at it. Nonetheless, I'm glad the issue was rid of and hopefully this other issue that you brought up will be fixed as well. As for follow for follow, I don't personally have any experience with it on this platform. However, I'm getting tons more of "Nice vid. Check out my stuff now!" kind of comments. Difference with that is the most I get is probably an upvote. But truth be told, I don't really care for that. I really love to start a discussion in my videos and just talk to people in...more the comments. Oftentimes, I can't do that because of how bad some of the comments are. Which you touch on as well. The trending page and the hot score stuff is really confusing. I use to be there very often if I'm being honest and it felt very nice. While I respect Vidme and their decision to feature other creators, it does kind of feel like I'm being cheated when other creators with an already established base get it. I'd much prefer it go to another smaller creator. Nonetheless, the effect of a team pick is kind of tricky for me because if you get rid of that, then the team picks literally just become that and as you mentioned, less and less people are even going there. So again, it's a bit tricky for me. Also want to add that this was a great video, man! Very fun to watch and insightful! Takes a lot of talent to make videos like this and while I know the next won't be here for a while, I still anticipate it!
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply yeah garbage path gaming was banned (advised to delete his profile i think they said to him). yeah his fake accounts he would use them on a lot of his friends. the more i distanced my self the more he stopped using them on me (bare in mind i knew exactly which accounts was fake). follow for follow is so bad we dont actually know when it effects us. people spam follow trending videos or go to someones profile and spam follow all their follow list (id assume). wow that is actually shocking you get them comments ive never got them i dont think. but that said i upload like 1 video a year haha. yeah me too discussion in the most important. i try to actually reply to peoples comments as best and detailed as possible. sometimes its really really hard. but i do it. i heard a few people used to get regularly featured. i have been featured 3 times but its typically content voice of any controversy like this one. @MarzieMalfoy has tons of videos and never has been featured. team pick just se...moreems like a tool to shoot content they want to see in trending high up there. if you ask me. the fact that 3 votes makes top 2 rows while i need over 20 to have the same effect shows me this "slight boost" makes no sense. i dont want an end to team picks. they should do 1 of 3 things in my eyes. dont say trending is "community curated", kill the "slight boost or cut down on "showing off youtubers like did you know gaming" because we see them on youtube, trending and now in picks...
      • [ – ] TheCynicalCypher parent reply Yeah, I get what your saying. If anything, they certainly should get the amplifier to the team pick to go down. It is noticeable that creators with a pick and 2 or 3 upvotes are basically on the second row of the trending page while my 8 upvoted video is on the 16th row. It is rather frustrating.
        • Rawman parent reply like a hinderance?? yeah if anything the extra visibility should make it hard for them to trend (then you might aswell call it the rocky and rawman picks thats who they would pick all day haha). depressing! 3 upvotes for row 2 and 8 upvotes for row 16.... dont worry its a slight boost"... yeah and garbage path gaming only have a slight amount of fake accounts hahahahaa!!
  • [ – ] Brologic_Productions reply Oh Boy, this receipt's going to be fun! First I really do like the intro where you go through the topics. I think it's right for this kind of video. Now with the actually comment: Okay, so I'm really happy that you bashed on the youtube vs vidme videos. Like I like a lot of the features here (*COUGH COUGH* Categories are easy to find!), but a lot of functionality and features on other sites aren't implemented. The JUST implemented blocking. Like we all can agree with the proactive approach but still, little weary on why that took 2 years. It always seemed like vidme vs youtube videos just wanted to be on the trending page. Though with that, funny story! I have discovered people through the New tab. I kid you not and I actually plan to make that part of a jokey bit on vid I plan to post eventually, but I did. the first person I found was @Orginaljun through a video where he talked about open source animation software and thanks to him is how I found out about opentoonz. The Second per...moreson I found was @Vanimation who did funny BofTw animation that I loved. That was like two people over the dozens of other times where mostly I've come across truther crap, or I felt like there was nothing I wanted to watch. If anything this proves the rule on the new page. (To those I tagged I'm sorry for the notifications, I swear I'm not lookng for attention, this is just an easy way to link the channels. I debated not doing this but felt it was appropriate. So uh... yep that sums it up.) Search for me is really hard when I can't filter the categories, or say you only want to uncategorized videos thus burying unverified people further. That feature could also help for the new section in mass browsing, something I've brought up to the vidme team. I have to say I'm curious to see anything that you could suggest to help better the search in... searching for stuff? I sometimes feel on this issue there's more that could be done but I only know of basic solutions atm. As for the follow for follow, I agree with the channel limit or cooldowns as a way to combat this. one or the other sort of deal. I personally would change remove the follower notification if someone unfollows to an unfollow notification. Why? MORE RECEIPTS! MUHHAHAHAA. but seriously I think it's more valuable to know who's abusing the system and who's just lost interest at the expense of a broken heart than being confused as to where that notification went. Another thing I'd like to add is other than getting rid of non-video watching upvotes, how about timestamped upvotes and comments that tracked what part of the video they were added? Did someone upvote before or after watching a video? Was it in the middle of the video? Why? I just think along with analytics this could be another great tool to see what works and what doesn't in a video. Finally, the slight boost. I don't get why it's there. It's already in the picks, where if it's good it's already going to get a lot of upvotes, so why does it need a boost on trending when it can be already be seen by anyone who uses the pick tab. It's a bit confusing honestly. That's it? I think that's it. Enjoy my long comment because I'm a mad man! HAhahahaha! :3
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply thanks for that receipt i will start off every community injustice this way! thanks! yes!! 2 years for a block feature...why??? TELL US!! receipts!!! vidme vs youtube always done well people gained like 100 followers at times from it. (i done a I QUIT youtube parody video and people believed it i was mocking the alt right in the video) i think in this circumstance the tag is relevant and i am glad you done that. people who like that category might be interested and go check it out. i personally want them to improve the search feature too. i think the unfollow notification would be way too depressing haha. imagine you had a 6 month long follower who unfollowed because of a video haha. that would suck! time stamped upvotes are great! but tbh if its someone like @danielamann or @Mugiwara_Necoke i trust their content and i will upvote at the start. but i do follow them and watch their content and typically leave receiepts of my purchase. I want MORE opinions about the slight boost ...morelol. i think we all need to express how we feel about this. this must change! they could never have though "invisible upvotes" was ok now "slight boost" is just invisible upvotes 2.0... what will it be next????? hahahaha i love long comments honestly thanks SOO much for this RECEIPT!!! you are really helping a lot!
  • [ – ] AmandaFood reply I'm not a drive by upvoter but I stopped commenting on people's videos 1. they don't reply which is fine I get it 2. don't even upvote the comment to know its been read even. if I watched the video and it made me feel a certain way and I want the creator of the video to know it. To get no acknowledgment every time is kinda like, ok you just post and don't care about your viewers. That's why yes smaller creators who love the work they put into their videos and feedback from their viewers need the comments/upvotes/views more. I like that it's something a lot of people here like to support (good smaller creators.) To be honest, I check out the random creator button a lot and most of them haven't posted in forever (I see why now) very good points and hopefully people watch the whole thing and not get discouraged and leave. There are good creators who deserve credit. It is hard to find those creators the way the trending pages work sometimes your right. Thanks for showcasing a few. Go...moreod video. Question for Q&A what is your favorite movie(s)? (it tells me a lot about a person) congrats on 300
    • [ – ] Rawman parent reply I only comment on peoples videos i know will acknowledge my comment or i know will reply (i only follow people like that). if they dont acknowledge. I WILL NEVER COMMENT OR WATCH THEIR STUFF! yes!! you wanna express to the creator how you feel. also we use it as a way to give feedback and help them out. all that stuff is very important and yes typically the other small are understanding of that so those of us who are viewers/creators do that like me and you. this comment you just left is wonderful thanks for the receipt. I checked out random once or twice but nah i dont like it. it should be used as a tool to reward those with a healthy channel (high comment points etc) not a dead channel! thanks for the comment honestly this receipt is wonderful. thanks for the QnA ive screenshotted this. you might be really surprised by the answer haha.
