  • [ – ] Rawman reply Wow that intro!!! Love it! I could hear bagpipes and tuvan throat singing and then i got a bit confused haha but loved the art. Your mind is so wonderful. From the screen shots you had shown I loved the visuals and it being a 2003 release that is impressive. Well done on 200 follows! Another great review bro.
    • theoldsparrow parent reply I wasn't sure what people would think of the OP of the show. It is interesting but unusual. I'm glad you liked it. It's a great show. Thank you for the kind words as always. :D
  • [ – ] Xenoliving reply I really love your taste in anime, you review a lot of my favorites. tbh it makes me want to do some anime reviews. I would love to cover lesser known anime like Dennō Coil and cencoroll Curious, what were your thoughts on the last exile continuation in 2012?
    • [ – ] theoldsparrow parent reply Thank you. I say go for it. Dennou Coil is great. I need to rewatch that. I haven't seen Cencoroll but it looks like a couple of movies. I plan to get a video out today on Last Exile: Fam of the Silver Wing if everything goes well. :D
      • Xenoliving parent reply You should the original! Cencoroll is only 30 min and is so good. Based on your history, I think you could relay appreciate it.
  • [ – ] GamerRaf reply I haven't seen this. It looks pretty interesting. At the moment I'm watching Attack on Titan season 2 but when I'm done with that I might check this one out. Awesome beard btw!
  • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas reply I like your review! The airships sound pretty cool. I've always had a thing for airships. I like the creative ideas that steampunk writers put into their stories. How did you first get into anime? Also, if you don't mind me asking, do you have a story behind the blue beard?
    • [ – ] theoldsparrow parent reply Getting into anime was a lifelong process of interests. I loved newspaper comic strips as a kid which got me into comic books. That got me into webcomics which then lead to manga and finallly anime. I did casually watch anime on adult swim and toonami in high school and university when I was reading web comics as a hobby but anime wasn't a hobby until a few years later. As for the beard, that's pretty simple. I started going gray when I was 17. At this point most of the hair on my chin is gray so I decided to dye it. Right around the same time as that I watched a Joe Rogan podcast with a paleontologist who looked like a biker with a green beard. I thought well I could dye it something crazy like my favorite color instead of try and probably fail the first few times to match my hair color. So that's why I dyed it blue.
      • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas parent reply Your beard is very colorful and distinct. It gives you a unique character. I like that. It takes courage to be different!
        • [ – ] theoldsparrow parent reply Thank you. I try to live by the phrase fortune favors the bold. It helps me with the fear of everyday life and pushes me to go outside my comfort zone.
  • [ – ] RSNAnime reply Another interesting review, and the whole setting here looks like it is unique enough that I should check out the anime.
    • theoldsparrow parent reply It is quite unique. I've seen airships done before but not quite like this. The sequel to it that I'm watching now is shaping up to be even better.
  • [ – ] MarzieMalfoy reply Oh I really love the music to this one. The graphics on this are great! Being a scifi anime, the CGI fits perfectly. Congrats on 200 followers! :D
  • [ – ] SamEarl13 reply Nice to the point review, I haven't seen Last Exile for ages so might need to re-watch some episodes at a later date. Liking your choices of things to review, always a pleasant surprise.
    • theoldsparrow parent reply Thank you. I'm making my way through the sequel right now so that will be my next review. I'm liking what I've seen so far. :D
  • [ – ] BrianAiya reply The only time CGI fits an anime is if it's a sci-fi anime. I know that this is your niche content but do you think of alternativing more popular anime and less popular ones? No need to be a review of a mainstream anime. Ps. What anime are you currently watching this season?
    • theoldsparrow parent reply Well steam punk is kind of a subgenre of sci-fi with the science focusing on steam based tech so I think it's not too out of place. I have done a couple of very popular all be it old anime and one from not too long ago but I don't think it got the recognition it should. I really think I should stick to completed anime because I would rather view the whole thing before reviewing. Anime I'm currently watching is: Shingeki no Kyojin season two, Boku no Hero Academia season two, Shingeki no Bahumat: Virgin Soul, Berserk 2, Re: Creators, Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Shou, Warau Salesmen New, Little Witch Academy, Sakura Quest, Clockwork Planet, Renai Boukon, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more. A lot of second seasons and contiuations. The only that makes me laugh the most is Renai Boukon, and Shingeki no Bahumat: Virgin Soul is the show I look forward too most each week because it is pure awesome and I love fantasy settings.
