It's been a while since I've done a Dark Cloud theme and I'm stoked to come back to this series! The original arrangement of this boss theme for Dr. Jaming is already such a banger. It features some rad retro-style MIDI guitars and some super crushing drums. The pieces were all in place to make it a super sick melodic metal jam. But with that being said, I wasn't content with simply re-making the theme as it was. I wanted to make it my own as well. I had a lot of fun experimenting with some different grooves for the rhythm guitars, especially in the verse where the riff is now entirely different and is more of a driving riff as opposed to the thrashy original version of it. I wanted to have it contrast the thrashy main riff a bit and go into a simplified grove to add more depth to the arrangement. Another rhythm thing i'm super proud of is the Amon Amarth-style chorus riff that arpeggiates the chords and reminds me of some sick European style metal. For the leads, I remained pretty faithful to the original but I found some opportunities to sneak some tapping licks in there as well as add some harmonies to certain sections. I also decided to throw in a solo over the chorus riff too get some extra shred in there. I went all out with this solo and i'm super proud of it. Overall i'm super proud of this arrangement and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Thanks Spectre for the awesome request and thank you guys for watching! ➤ The original "Dr. Jaming" theme from the game "Dark Cloud 2 / Dark Chronicle" was composed by Tomohito Nishiura ➤ Thank you to Tomohito Nishiura for the game footage!
