#1 prepper mistake
July 7 2017
The number one mistake preppers, subsistence farmers and homesteaders make is not providing for their electrolyte needs. During normal times most people receive their electrolytes from preservatives found in the processed foods they eat. When people switch to a diet of unprocessed farm raised foods they will find that they will eat more food in bulk and larger amounts of water to digest the food. In these conditions salt and other electrolytes must be added to the diet to prevent dehydration. The inclusion of pediatric electrolytes to the survival supplies will allow for the treatment of dehydration resulting from diet, diarrhea, vomitting, or heat related illnesses. The prepper can visit most stores and find the store brand electrolyte on sale or deep discounted. Pediatric electrolye should be added to all first aid, prepper or survival stocks.
