  • [ – ] Roolooth reply Good advice, yes the store brands give good value. I always check my receipt, item by item because it is surprising how often the "special offer" or the "two for the price of one" doesn't ring up on the checkout till and you are charged the standard price for each item, this happens a lot in my local Morrisons supermarket. They put the special offer stickers and poster on the shelf but fail to enter the bargain price on their computers linked to the checkout till. It is nothing short of a scam because it happens all too often to be a mistake and it never happens the other way round. Don't get taken in by these scammers, check your receipt before leaving the store.
    • MrJoelDee parent reply I definitely think some are a little scammy. Ingles, where I shop most of the time, will have several items on sale. At the register, some ring up at the sale price and some don't. They say it will show up after the total. What?? Shouldn't everything on sale ring up for the sale price? I keep meaning to have them explain to me why some items ring up at the sale price and others have to wait for a total. It used to be that if an item didn't scan at the sale price and you caught it, which I've done a couple times in the past, they'd give it to you for free.
  • [ – ] MysticSword reply Another thing I find annoying is when the Supermarket offers a deal on buying multiple on something (for example; "Buy 5 for $5, otherwise $1.25 each"), when you might only want to get 1 of that item, so it's like you're kind of "punished" and being charged more for an item if you only really wanted to get 1. PS: Cool hoodie.
    • MrJoelDee parent reply Thank you 😀 I'm really glad I decided to get the hoodie. I'm gonna love wearing it in cooler weather. I have seen those multiple items deals too. Now at some stores, I've found that though they may be advertised 5 for $5, in some cases, if you buy less than 5, even just 1, you still get that $1 price, but I know that's not always the case. I hate the Kroger "deals". Save so much on a certain product if you buy 5 or 10 of other qualifying items. While I may need the item I can save on, generally I don't need any of the other qualifying items.
  • Y2JayDoesAsia reply Actually I think my video response to this vid will have to be a video about supermarkets and the tricks they use to make you spend more. Keep an eye out for it next weekend :)
