  • [ – ] TFKnight reply As a small creator, I'm gonna say this. I've been wanting to leave Youtube for quite some time, I was tired of Youtube's shit and I wanted out. So I started looking for other sites, at first I came across Vimeo. When I get on Vimeo I come to realize that there is a limit to how much I can upload, now based on my economic status that means I can only get the basic upload police, which was pretty much 4 videos per week but I could also sneak in like a five second clip or 2. Also literally no one viewed my stuff, not one person. So I was waiting a long week, just to upload 4 videos that no one would see. Yeah sure I could have waited longer but really what was the point in that so I left. Later I am browsing Youtube comments on videos where people were talking about some of youtube's problems to see if people would say "oh switch to this site". And I'm starting to see a lot of people say some good things about Vidme. I then look up Vidme and after looking at some stuff, I felt like o...morene of those slaves who just escaped the south and have finally stepped foot in the North. And although Vidme may not be as advanced as Youtube, what makes it better was that I no longer have to live in fear of getting trampled or false copyrighted with no support, which does not end well for people such as myself because unless you have millions of fans who watch your videos on the daily, your ass is grass and whoever is copyrighting has the lawnmower. Also I'm gonna disagree with you on one point, there are actually 2 apps for Vidme, there's the normal one then there is this one known as "Vidme Cam" which for me all it does is allow me to have my flashlight on while recording on my phone, which is nice. Now I hope that Vidme will overthrow Youtube. But we should be careful, we need to look out in case Vidme starts becoming Youtube, false copyrighting and becoming mainstream. But let's just hope that day never comes.
    • [ – ] TFKnight parent reply I seem to have made a spelling error, I meant to say "Basic uploading policy"
      • [ – ] DreamMix parent reply haha "i felt like a slave that escaped the south"
        • [ – ] TFKnight parent reply Yeah, escaping from the false copyright claims and trying to keep the small youtubers down. Haha.
          • [ – ] DreamMix parent reply Yea man, that was my biggest thing. Smaller youtubers could almost never gain traction there, even with great content. Even if you had thousands of subs, it was still a bitch to gain more! There was no natural growth.
            • [ – ] TFKnight parent reply Yeah, I've been copyrighted, it freaking sucks. Copyright for me at this day and age is a double edged sword. Yes you should get profit and credit if you make something cool But should you really try to prevent someone from making something cool of their own just because oh god forbid they use a SECOND of your stuff? Kind of a douchebag move when you think about it.
              • [ – ] DreamMix parent reply Oh yeah, and I shouldnt even mention the bs with gameplay and being copyrighted. Dude, I remember something else rediculous that happened is that I had a movie on youtube, and they just randomly deleted it because I had tags in the description. This was early on youtube, so everyone did that, and it doesn't seem like something that warrants a video delete. I had 300,000+ views on it too!
                • [ – ] TFKnight parent reply Man, all I got was copyrighted music that not many people watched.
                  • [ – ] DreamMix parent reply dude imagine how much it would piss you off if that video got 300,000+ views. AND THAT WAS LUCK BTW. Cause yt hardly shows off smaller channel's vids.
                    • [ – ] TFKnight parent reply Yeah cause they only want the bigger Youtubers. If you think about it, it's kinda like the Matrix. They use the big youtubers as like the bait, to try to get smaller youtubers to make their own videos. However because they are new, you don't just suddenly create your own ideas with high tech equipment stuff like that, you usually go off of what other people have made. Then it's like a freaking brutal obstacle course. Wanna make a video of yourself playing a game while rocking out to some of your favorite bands? Oh sorry, but that music is copyrighted. The game? Copyrighted. The voice lines? Oh so copyrighted. As if they wanna break into your house and slap you with a stack of copyright claims. Again with what I said on Copyright.
                      • Craftwithcookies parent reply yeah. I still have a YouTube channel, because it has more features, like channel trailer, playlists and such, but other than that YouTube is trash. Also vid.me told me in a PERSONAL email that they are gonna add those features : ) so its confirmed : ) I have 5K subs on YT but those were cause i made a video with "Markiplier" in the title and "FNAF Speededit"
  • MyaWho reply you're not wrong lol
  • 8up_Gaming reply i must say vid.me is a lot better for smaller channels. every video i ported over from youtube has gotten more views on here then youtube.
  • [ – ] LucidDream404 reply Vid.me must kill YouTube.
  • [ – ] TZRDaveO reply Glad you're as excited as I am man! Great video!
  • [ – ] rootclipping reply Its remarkable :)
  • MacMalarkey reply Yeah, nice to see YouTube have some serious competition for once. Definitely excited to see where Vid.me goes.
  • [ – ] Stamasian reply Welcome to Utopia brother!
    • [ – ] DreamMix parent reply Is your logo influenced by sonic adventure 2 load screens?
      • Stamasian parent reply holy crap. I never put those two together. I totally must have done that subconsciously or something (big sonic fan) I was originally going for a galaxy since the name Stamasian is the name of the alien race I said I was from in eighth grade. lol
  • [ – ] JourneyStudioCo reply This video got me pumped up to be on Vidme! Thanks man!
    • DreamMix parent reply hell yeah! I'm pumped too. I just started here and this video is already the top vid on the site rn. Pretty sick :)
  • [ – ] Kutangelwings reply if this site starts getting bigger and more popular, I hope that all the big youtubers don't join the band wagon and hop over to vidme and completely dominate the front page and turn this site into a train wreck which is what youtube is becoming.
    • DreamMix parent reply Having youtubers come here will only give people that joined on earlier and already have a following a bigger audience. Also the way this site works is helping new videos, so it shouldn't matter :)
  • bononoz1 reply I joined as well, I'm sick of YouTube's shit.
  • [ – ] RossK reply You are not the only one. I love the postivity. YT is a cesspit. What sort of company is NOT contactable by it's users? It is insane. Love it here :)
  • Strizer reply Great video man! I'v recently joined Vidme and it definitely seems so much better than Youtube in many ways! It's fair to everyone and gives everyone a equal chance to get there content seen which is awesome! All i can say is if Youtube keeps carrying on like it is then Vidme will probably become the new Youtube! :)
  • Anon1913 reply Post comment needs to be at the top of the comment section, not the bottom.
  • Blueprint4Z reply Yes! I've been wanting something like this!
  • FossilBossTV reply let me try https://vid.me/KEJ7 it worked
  • [ – ] HeadClot reply Hey - Joining you from YouTube. FREEEEEEEDDDDDOOOOMMMM!!!!!
    • [ – ] DreamMix parent reply Right!? :D
      • [ – ] HeadClot parent reply OMG - It has a Reddit like reply system I love this already :D
        • DreamMix parent reply And reddit like upvotes, and I'm down with the follow system too, just makes more since to newbies. They don't wanna have to think they're spending money by subscribing, and a lot of younger audiences legitimately think that! lol
  • Sharpwing reply There's no clear way on how to grow your audience for bigger and better projects on YouTube and a larger audience is essential to collaboration and improvement. Growing your reputation in some form or another will be important for working with other creators and learning more new skills to further improve your content. Some creators, like me pick up new skills by learning from other creators with different skill sets and vice versa. Collaboration is one of the most important things to building a community. Communities need to be able to have heart, open interaction, passion, compassion, easy communication and trust. Reputation does play a huge part in opportunities to improve and build bridges. Every tie severed in regards to a community inevitably leads to corporate consumerism overriding reason, common sense and decency as well as an open acceptance of blind loyalty, close-minded ideals, greed, intolerance, cruelty and blatant stupidity. Part of the blame falls on us for giving the...morese forms of laziness and destructive apathy a place to belong in our ranks. These people and ideals want nothing more than to divide all or to destroy what it hates or does not understand and refuses to ever accept. However, YouTube made these things the norm again, even though most of us came to YouTube in the first place for a breath of fresh air, this cancer is what was making money. Vid.me is fantastic and it seems that the creators do indeed have our interests at heart, but in order to avoid this in the future, loyalty to one platform will never be the answer. Competition, variety and choices will always be the answer and monopoly no matter our intentions or the original intentions of the creators now will inevitably lead to the death of creativity and free expression and the promotion and praise of oversaturated garbage.
  • [ – ] Triggerfinger19 reply Dude this video just convinced me to join! Thanks for the advice!
  • ItsRealyReall reply =] I know right! I'm excited, too. Love watching these types of videos on the YouTube to VidMe switch =P. So sad it's come to this, but this is a wonderful outcome and I hope it lasts as long as possible. =]
  • GAM3RSDOOM reply It's super nice here for the small guys lol can't wait to see where vidme goes this year!
  • BelgianDan reply Agreed, just noticed the link upload option, going to try it out. Awesome video and I agree, just got here and loving it.
  • [ – ] Darth_Xeno reply I'm loving VidMe thus-far! I hope we found our YouTube killer!
  • [ – ] Kualdir reply Hey DreamMix can I use a little part of your video to make my own? (Ofc i'll credit you)
  • [ – ] Mokibo reply I just switched here from YT and I'm a gaming person. Is Vidme friendly to gaming?
  • chralleman reply https://vid.me/ufr5 happynew year
  • neyaonline reply I just joined VidMe because a friend told me about it. I just hope it is as awesome as he said it is xD.
  • xXAquarangXx reply Sub to me and reply "Aqua" and I will sub to you with 5 alt accounts. HAPPY NEW YEAR
  • QuazzVids reply YouTube has a team. Just a very shitty one lol.
  • [ – ] MiniSeaStar reply I totally agree! I get so much more traffic on here than on YouTube and the response time is so much quicker too.
  • 89503 reply you went grocery shopping last Tuesday
  • [ – ] AGAaron reply We're gonna need to watch our optimism if we are to make any progress on the problems that Vid.me *does* have. This site still has loads of problems on it's own regardless of comparisons to Youtube. I made a video exactly about this, check it out & give me your thoughts: https://vid.me/CuSu
  • [ – ] DreamMix reply Can't believe we got this video to the top video on Vidme. Please share it to your fellow youtubers and make them former youtubers, or at least halfie youtubers We need some large channels to come over too, because that would convince viewers to join us, and just get us more views. Let your favorite content creators know about this site so we can watch them here instead of having to go through the pain of youtube! lol I want to see a large audience come to this site because it's something that I can actually believe in!
    • Craftwithcookies parent reply IHE came over, but we could still have more. Its really cool when you can have your video featured next to a mega big vid.me tuber or something
  • AdventuresOfSuze reply I love vidme but I have been trying to upload my vidme video today for two hours!!!! This does sometimes happen, would love vidme to improve the upload...any tips?
  • robertantonnyc reply I'm already over here. How do you re-edit videos that you point from youtube to change the branding?
  • cowboy6591 reply My only fear is when vidme hits over a million users, sooner or later the staff will not be able to keep up with "personal" human monitoring of DMA complaints and will have to succumb to an algorithmic digital solution such as youboobe is doing. If they hit that point will we be willing to pay in order to upload and of course keep anonymous viewing free. Only Uploader accounts pay. I certainly will be willing as to avoid the irrational decisions of software driven judgement. Vidme will have to pay staffers to do this, and they will need several hundred of them if they succeed to the level youfools have.
  • BranTheLaw reply You're absolutely right. I am a YouTuber from back in the day and Vidme has won me over.
  • NightFright reply what channel here can I address issues and how can I block someone channel thanks .
  • [ – ] spham9 reply Youtube is the biggest video streaming site on the internet and vidme is a pretty new site.. ofc they are gonna reply back to messages quick.. correct me if im wrong though xD. if the site is gonna get big as youtube then i wouldnt be surprised this site will become sorta like youtube.
    • NoobRydar parent reply Youtube is manage by jack asses that dont give damn about the content creators. That the reason why dont respond to partners. Its not about size. Im partnered on twitch. Twitch is pretty big. EVERY partner has email support and the ability to get contact with their staff in less than 24 hours
Download the Vidme app!
