  • [ – ] theoldsparrow reply For my Japanese studying I use a lot of flashcards using a program called Anki. Basically you can custom make flashcards of anything you want to memorize and it will space out how often you see a term or phrase or technical jargon until your memorization of it has matured and it is easy to you. It's great for learning languages but has a lot of other uses too. Searching up Anki and NCLEX just to see if there is a premade deck of flashcards built for it lead me to this blog: https://vivanamida.wordpress.com/2015/09/03/how-i-passed-my-nclex-rn-general-tips-and-study-guide-reviews/ . I hope that helps. :D
    • JessicaMartwin parent reply Ohhh wow! That looks awesome. Thanks! I really appreciate your help. I just read through that website and it was very helpful. I'm sure it will be a great help for me. Again, thank you so much :D
  • [ – ] JustABloke reply Love the outro 👍 Studying is something I was never good at .. so I'm no help to you. But I do wish you well in everything you do.
  • [ – ] jrswab reply Check out the spacing technique. I hear good things about it.
  • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas reply Hey, Jessica, nice change to your outro! Making notes, giving yourself treats (gaming, running, etc.), taking breaks, quiet study environment, fresh air. Those are all good study tips! Reading out loud is good too, as well as stopping every so often to ask yourself what you've been reviewing. Then there is good old fashioned swearing. Once an hour just let loose with some loud four letter words. #@$*! Clears the brain of creeping mental fog. Works for me. Just saying.
    • JessicaMartwin parent reply I thought it was time for a change :) Ha, I'm sure that really does help. I think letting off steam, like swearing, can come in handy in so many different situations. I like to study in a quiet environment but that;s not always possible. Rewards are always really helpful for me when it comes to studying. Thanks for your help :D
  • [ – ] DrCut reply Studying is a normal process of growing to become better and mostly more important to get the job you like. You should consider studying like a gift. I know it's seems crazy but it's not. The knowledge is a true power and nobody can steal from you. So in my opinion, the best way of studying is preparation of mind by meditation about 10 minutes. Then you should listen the genius Mozart about 10 minutes with closed eyes to create the link between your mind and pleasure. The Japanese green tea for relaxing your mind and body. After you will be prepared to studying! Last thing! Silence is very important. May the Force be with you. :)
    • [ – ] JessicaMartwin parent reply Wow, so many great tips! Thanks! I really appreciate it. Knowledge really is power :) I have never really thought about studying like that before. A new perspective is always good. :D
  • [ – ] USUandS reply I think breaks in general are underrated. I'm guilty of cramming as much info as possible last minute, but I've been the most successful with anything while regularly studying with small breaks in between. Sometimes listening to soundtracks from my favorite movies, classical music or music with low energy helps. Also having a beverage like tea, coffee or water to sip on helps me focus. That one doesn't make as much sense, but it's just something I've noticed after thinking about it. I don't know if any of that is useful to you, but good luck studying regardless!
