In this video I go even further into hyperbolic trigonometric identities and this time go over two corollary formulas for the cosh(2x) double angle or double argument identity which I solved in an earlier video. I show that using the famous hyperbolic trig identity cosh^2(x) – sinh^2(x) = 1 and re-arranging it as formulas of cosh^2(x) and sinh^2(x), we can then plug each formula separately into the cosh(2x) = cosh^2(x) + sinh^2(x) double identity. When we do this we can a two different corollary formulas for cosh(2x) which are also often used, and thus I wanted to solve these separately in this video. Note that “corollary” means something that follows from a previously defined or proved argument, namely the original cosh(2x) double angle identity I solved in my earlier video. This is a very interesting video in showing how any given trig identity often has multiple different useful formulations so make sure to watch this video!
