Because I work for a local local government and they have an anti social media policy. Sorry but facebook is personal life, not work time. I can say what I want on facebook. In the end though, I chose not to use facebook at all and deactivated my account. I would rather not use it than have to worry about people from the council monitoring my facebook page. Which is exactly what has been happening.
    • MrJoelDee parent reply One good thing is that nobody from work really watches video platforms such as Vidme, however I am friends with several co-workers on FaceBook and while I usually don't get too personal on there, I do go off and blow off steam about work from time to time. I totally agree that FB is personal life. My thought is, I guess, if you don't want me to blow up about work socially, then don't give me a reason. Now if one were like divulging inside or trade secrets or something, that would be different, but everyone needs to vent about their job sometimes. Sometimes in front of a camera or on social media is the only place where you have anyone to listen. Since I'm the main one who does most of the work at my job and take the initiative to learn new things, I pretty much don't care. Not bragging at all, I've even been told by other employees and even clients that if anything ever happened to me, the station would really be in a mess. While that's very true, I never get the big head about it. I...more do know however that I have enough job security in that, that I can pretty much vent when I want and if they don't like it, I can always quit at any given second and good luck doing or finding someone who'll do or even knows how to do all the stuff I do. Doesn't bother me at all. Whenever I've left a job in the past, things have always ended up working out for me for the better, and I have to believe based on that, they always will. Plus if they were ever stupid enough to actually fire me over something as stupid as venting on social media, well my venting would be the least of their worries, as I know real dirt and deep dark secrets about some folks and some of the ways things work around here, that I'd only be too happy to tell in detail if I ever needed to. My venting about a bad day at work would be nothing in comparison. Not trying to sound like a dick, but at the same time my job is never going to tell me, or anyone else for that mattet, what I can post about on any form of social media. Like you said, that's our personal time, not work time. My rule: don't piss me off at work, I have nothing work related to post about. Keep me happy, everybody's happy. 😀
  • [ – ] November_Fox reply Like I said yesterday, do what you can. I for one will be satisfied with what ever amount you can put out. I too am a very nice willing to help Guy, but I'll take you where to stick it if I think you're taking advantage of my good nature.
    • [ – ] MrJoelDee parent reply I know what you mean. I have a LOT of patience with people, but I do have my limits. I had been thinking for awhile about cutting out the daily deal, but it was actually your comment yesterday that made me think about it more seriously, which is a good thing. This will give me more time to put into different videos even if I have to get some apects during the week, for the actual video, at least I won't be trying to rush to get something up on a daily basis, which hopefully, will make them a little bit better.
