Forging a forge part 1 (Top bit of the leg)
August 8 2017
This is probably going to be a very long and slow project and series of videos. I'm going to try keeping with doing a new video for each part I work on, whether it's a full actual piece, or just a small little bit like this video, I'm going to try to get it all. So on that, yes, I'm going to try forging myself a new forge. Parts I'm fully prepared and ready to fail horribly at, but I'm going to try anyway. Because 1, I love beating red steel, and B; you can't be afraid of failure, that's how you learn. This first bit is just the top of one of the legs, started with about 27-1/2 inches of 5/8ths square bar. Took longer to "process" it down than I thought it would, and the weather seemed like it was going to get a little rough so I shut down a little earlier than I wanted.
