    • theoldsparrow parent reply You can make your own spice mix to cut down on the heat and nix the jalapenos. The spices I used was a store bought mix of taco seasoning with original flavor so it's not too hot. The limes do cut the taste of the spice down a little for a tangier flavor so I use more spice than for something like ground beef.

  • Calibri_Funtimes reply YUM! Burritos! We always have burrito fixings in stock in our kitchen at all times--we eat them about every week. Sometimes just with beans and corn, other times with some kind of meat and avocado and flavored rice! They're very versatile and not too difficult to make! Great video!

I think stomach is going to eat eat itself. :-| It's awesome you grow your own Jalepenos! Fresh produce is so- so much better. I have a small herb garden, Tomatoes & onions that I've grown. ^^ (And a half dead hot pepper plant.. Poor feller never stood a chance w. me)...
    • [ – ] theoldsparrow parent reply I love picking vegetables from the garden and cooking them fresh. There's nothing like it. It's cool you have your own garden too. Poor peppers. You tried though. We have really hardy pepper plants that yield bigger peppers at the cost of the sweetness. They're a little bitter from the terra firma but I mainly grow them for spice and the bitterness can be covered by citrus easily. Have a good day man. :D

        • theoldsparrow parent reply What I like to cook I know well. There's still plenty of recipes for things I haven't tried and other things I want to be creative with. I should be adding to my baking stuff with peanut butter and jelly cookies soon.
  • [ – ] MFKraven reply i love the food network vibe to most of the video, great job brother! making me hungry as hell haha, personally i always get my burritos with absolutely no veggies but the addition of the creamy onions combined with the butter actually sounds really good. also i noticed you used a metal spatula on a nonstick pan to stir the chicken, in the future you might wanna avoid doing that as you're scraping off material from it ruining your pans and it gets into your food, use a hard silicone one instead like this one, its on me :)
    • theoldsparrow parent reply The vegetables should be so soft they almost melt in your mouth. One of the key factors of the flavor. Sorry about using the metal spatula. I have non metal ones but they weren't clean for the video so I made do with the metal one. I'm actually really light on stirring even though it sounds much louder in the video. I'll be sure to order the spatula though. Thank you so much, bro. :D

  • [ – ] Roamancing reply Now I am curious what the difference is between a fajita and a burrito is, as I always thought that deliciousness that you made there was a fajita.

Fajita literally translates to strips of beef so while there are chicken and pork fajitas the differentiation can mainly be the amount of ingredients going into the burrito as well as the size of the tortilla. To add to that you've got chimichangas which is a fried burrito, quesadillas which are flattened burritos cooked until crisp, and many other variations of meats and vegetables in a tortilla. I will say they all taste delicious. I'm a big fan of Tex Mex and it's rare to see me go a week without eating one of these.

Garden grown veggies make everything better! Nice organization to the video. The sizzling sound was great. And you had your signature move of a shot of you reading from the script on your screen. Also, the reaction at the end was cool too. All in all, a great experience and you made all your viewers hungry!
    • theoldsparrow parent reply If I haven't made you a little hungry then I haven't done my job. :D The scripted part was actually a failure on my end because the battery went dead and I had nothing charged so I had to charge that for pretty much the entire squeezing the lime juice into the skillet and reducing it so I just described it. I'll try to do better next time. Thank you for the tip. That's really cool.
  • WalkingForWeightLoss reply Yum. While I am walking for weight loss, I'll skip the cheese and have no more than a tiny amount of sour cream. Since I don't have regular kitchen access, I reply on eating out. I eat a lot of chicken tacos often with just onion, tomato salsa, and avocado.
