It seems that YouTube has the resources and manpower to find videos by virtually unknown and struggling YouTubers to demonetize their videos for their content. I've recently had a video demonetized and, after careful review, cannot find anything that makes it stand out as a video that should be demonetized. More to the point, if YouTube had the means to find a YouTuber like myself who has been creating clever and original content for about a year, but who has garnered almost no attention at all in the YouTube community, for the purpose of demonetizing his video, why do they not have the same resources available to promote otherwise good content?
Making videos is fun and it is something that gives me very real pleasure. That is the only reason I have continued to upload my videos to YouTube for this long. The YouTube experience itself, however, is demoralizing and for this reason I have decided that I will no longer be uploading to YouTube. YouTube spends far too much energy demonizing original creators and not enough energy promoting them. It's become humiliating.
I will, for the future, only post my videos on Vidme, a kinder, gentler place where I'm also relatively unknown but certainly much more appreciated. #youtubesucks
