A reading of perhaps my favorite poem by one of my favorite #Boston poets to take us out of #NationalPoetryMonth!
The reading, cinematography, and editing are mine.
The poem, of course, is Poe's, read it here: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poems/detail/46477.
The song is "Home" by Myuu, and you should check him out (and I hope he doesn't hate what I've done with his gorgeous composition too much--it has a purpose!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtVBJu3-Q2s.
Except for two shots that are actually from across town in Allston (because in part I thought they fit but also because they gave my own more personal touch to this one) and an old scene of the Old Corner Book Store, some scenes of the Frog Pond and of "Poe Square," the approximate site of where his birthplace stood till Urban "Renewal" began in the 1950s in fall, and also the remnants of our "Piano District." Boston has many, many, many, #myriad flaws, but it's my adopted hometown, and I love it. Greatest Little Big City in the world. I wish it still had a lot of what attracted me here from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, or even what it had when I moved to Chicago, but it still has great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great things.
