  • [ – ] ExcalibursZone reply I am an obese person who does a lot of work where I sit a lot and lead a very sedentary lifestyle. I have a membership to a local gym, but really don't like exercising in front of others. Swimming is different since I have fun with my son. My issues are stress eating and lack of motivation to exercise (living longer is a good motivation). I've followed and will keep up with your progress. Maybe you'll help get me off my butt. :)
    • [ – ] WalkingForWeightLoss parent reply Thanks for sharing. I empathize as one who's struggled with emotional eating. I used to be very, very self-conscious about what others thought of me before going to the gym. Then in 2011 i began a traveling lifestyle and in-effect had to shower at the gym since I slept in my SUV in my travels. Once you're there you realize no one cares what your doing. Also, it never happened but if anyone ever did make fun of me then they'd reveal themselves to be a jerk so I would not respect them. But, again, most people there just focus on themselves. However, I prefer fresh air. Swimming is great too! When I am on the road and spot gyms with a pool I take advantage of that. My friend @TheSmusher is also obese and with my encouragement he recently lost 25lbs just by limiting calories to no more than 2k per day. Anyway let your son by your motivation. The world's a hard place so be here for him as much as you can. I'll be happy to help encourage you. I'd even be open to chatting and walking...more by phone (headset).
  • [ – ] TheNewAmericanMedia reply Love the concept. Something simple such as walking can really change the body in just a few weeks. Drastic results can be found in just a few months. Keep up the hustle.

  • [ – ] Roamancing reply Walking is such a healthy approach to weight loss, and a particular favourite pastime of mine. While I myself am not trying to lose weight, I am a huge advocate for healthy living and love reminders that get me outside and active. Looking forward to strolling along on your journey.
    • WalkingForWeightLoss parent reply Right on. As a fellow travel enthusiast I'm guessing you feel the same or similar as my feeling that the world is meant to be seen outside most of all. Even when I am limited financially, there's plenty to discover somewhere whether I'm in a big or small city. I look forward to following your journey too.
  • TravelDiary reply bro if you want to lose weight, just make a check how much calories you burn without doing anything. you will lose weight when you eat less than that number, doesnt have to be much less, as long as you are consistent. I burn around 1.700kcal/day for example
