Then when I was 19 I had a minor operation to fix it, called an edge recession. Simply put, they put local anaesthetic in to numb the toes. Then jam scissors in to cut the "offending" part of the toenail out. Then jam cotton buds in that have been soaked in acid to cauterize the wound and kill the spot where the toenails grow. It worked, not quite 100%, but it pretty much worked. I went from not being able to walk, to basically never having a problem ever again. Bless MODERN MEDICINE!

Like holding your breath, counting to ten, and slowly letting it out to cure hiccups. I've actually tried that in my past, several times, and it worked. Still very cool to read some of this stuff though. My favorite was pulling down the covers to go to bed, then getting under the bed to trick the fever and chills, lol! I had 2 ingrown toenails as a teen. One on each of my big toes. They were so bad they actually put me to sleep and did surgery. I couldn't put any pressure on them for weeks after. I kinda had to re-learn to walk again, on my heels for the most part, until the surgery healed. I mean they had me up on those parallel bar things to re-learn balance and stuff.
