This chapter is hell for no damage. The segments with U3 and Krauser leading up to the main showdowns are quite tough.
The main difficulty with U3's section is when it jumps up into the ceiling. The QTE gives you very little time to react, and it can be damn near impossible to get if it does it right when you hit a switch. There isn't much room to maneuver at some points, either.
With just the default level of health, Krauser's section is quite harrowing due to the fact that just about everything he does will kill you in one hit (including TMP fire). With the "no deaths" condition, one mistake can mean redoing the entire section from the last save.
I did end up restarting near the beginning, as I wasn't really "in the groove" yet (didn't actually get hit, though; was just making stupid mistakes). Miraculously, I got through the main battle in one try, despite usually needing to restart a few times to get the knifing rhythm down. I was literally hyperventilating after that point, though. xD
On another note: I goofed up a bit on upgrades. I should have finished upgrading the Broken Butterfly before the Krauser fight, but decided I wanted to use up the last 2 bullets before upgrading the capacity--completely forgetting that there wouldn't be another Merchant until near the end of 5-4 (and 2 J.J.'s before reaching him).
