  • [ – ] AxxL_Afriku reply fuck the fucking iphone X
  • [ – ] bononoz1 reply Finally, someone has the balls to call out apple, 1K dollars is way too much for a fucking phone.
    • [ – ] PsychoticPhilosophyPodcast parent reply Bullshit. a thousand bucks to be supremely surveilled
      • [ – ] bononoz1 parent reply Hmm? How so?
        • [ – ] PsychoticPhilosophyPodcast parent reply Facial recognition technology. The same type of technology Facebook has been implementing with their new "Deep Face" program. Scary stuff ... Computing Forever talks about it in another video
          • [ – ] NakkiNyan parent reply The facial recognition algorithm is on a chip in the phone like the fingerprint reader was so calm your tits. If it wasn't you would not be able to use your phone if you have a bad cellular connection. Also, I still have yet to hear the insane ranting over Android having fingerprint readers like the screeching over iPhones getting them years ago. Both Android, iOS, and their respective devices suck in different ways. It is time to point them both out and not just get an Apple hate boner.
            • [ – ] rxantos parent reply The chip will only reduce your facial measurements to a number. And that information is not as large as you might think. The first iPhone jailbreak showed that apple was recording all keystrokes and sending all your GPS positions home without alerting the user. One of the reason their Messiah Steve tried to convince people that jail breaking their own property was illegal was to avoid people suing Apple once they found out. All the "Turn off"switches where added latter to prevent a class action lawsuit. I am quite sure that Apple will send its facial recognition and store it where it can be sold to governments. So they can correlate the internet information with the person.
              • PsychoticPhilosophyPodcast parent reply So, basically, we're all fucked by technology. Just wait til it fully converges, or rather replaces humanity. Of course we will merge with it, as a "progressive" thing to do, to begin with...
            • PsychoticPhilosophyPodcast parent reply I don't even use a smart phone, must be because I'm dumb. Hahah..
            • PsychoticPhilosophyPodcast parent reply Ha, yeah it's all good for you, and the future of humanity!!
          • bononoz1 parent reply Oh yeah, that, I dunno why Apple did that, it's really fucking creepy
          • Ndoki parent reply expand (possible spam) ..and Android, and literally everything else. I hear even dogs have facial recognition abilities now!
    • smithpolly parent reply bononoz1 : Finally? You've never seen a video or read an article where someone has said that Apple products are overpriced before this one?
  • [ – ] Politics_N_Games reply iPhone 8 buyers will be considered peasants by iPhone X buyers.
    • Platypus67 parent reply Fuck apple; every new device is more expensive and more poorly made - overpaid crap! I mistreated my iphone 4 like hell for over 4 years - and it still works perfectly fine. Then i got an iphone 7 half a year ago and i broke its fucking cheaply made glass for the 2nd time already a week ago! And these shallow apple geek idiots are a sign of our superficial times...
  • [ – ] TheAnimeCW reply There is literally no reason to get an iPhone on the basis of "innovation". They haven't been that for a long time.
    • InternetUnwind parent reply Which is funny since all they did during the unveiling was spout all this nonsense about how innovative everything apple does is.
  • [ – ] capqrch57 reply I don't even have a 'smart' phone. Call me a troglodyte, but all I really expect from a phone is to hear someone's voice when I answer it.
  • Bonanny reply A friend of mine was jumped and had his I phone stolen 2 weekends ago. Nobody has ever tried to take my Samsung S5. 😆
  • VybeyPantelonez reply Meet the new iPhone... same as the old iPhone
  • [ – ] TheAwesomeTRex reply Don't even bother with Apple Fanatics anymore! You know what my religion is.....Religiously hating people like them! Fuck you!
    • Herringchoker parent reply Good luck with the averagely priced electronics that has the same quality of anything not out of a chinese factory backroom! No logo or brushed fancy alloy thing shitty devices for you! MUHAHHA!
  • Spazztastic reply I'm really enjoying Vidme. Dave: I download all my videos to watch via VLC player. Just to let you know in case you think my Stat is showing I haven't watched the whole video. I hope more people start publishing on Vidme. It's very nice.
  • AceOfAces reply Lel. The Lumia series just runs in circles around those phones. And the last flagship costs a fraction of the cost (around 300 euros on my country, if you can find one). Apple is like a luxury car manufacturer. Even my new HP laptop (which costed me 500 euros and has two GPU cards (intel HD Graphics 520 and AMD R5 M430), 6th Generation Intel Core i3-6006U) is a better deal than the current Macbooks . They aren't a company anymore. They are scam artists.
  • Rhyzir reply Great video Dave! I had assumed that you were an Apple fan but I guess you're smarter than that. I used to like Apple products but when they started focusing on locking users into the ecosystem I gave up on them. I think that they make attractive hardware and a nice user interface, but that can also be had elsewhere for a lot less money and with more freedom of choice about how my information gets handled. I currently use Linux for most things but run Windows 7 when necessary.
  • [ – ] labrynianrebel reply I still have a tracphone. And it's only the second phone I've owned in my entire life, the first one was used until it literally stopped functioning.
  • [ – ] brileevir reply So the question is: why would anyone want a Windoz laptop? I've never used anything but Debian or Ubuntu on my laptops for donkey's years.
    • VoltaicFire parent reply I envy your OS choice, I want to switch from Windows but I'd lose so many of my games. I know that's improving but it hasn't achieved parity YET.
    • DoMiNeLa10 parent reply There are manufacturers that sell laptops with GNU/Linux and even try marketing around it. Take a look at this: You could also just look for an option to buy a laptop without any operating system and install the distro of your choice yourself. That way you won't give a single penny to Microsoft. As for me, I bought an old ThinkPad and I'm enjoying amazing support for it on GNU/Linux (TLP can do magic with batteries on ThinkPads.) I could even run macOS on it if I wanted to, as it has pretty decent support for it.
    • SGWaS parent reply Meh, I like Windows. Probably because I've used it for so long, I couldn't 100% switch over to anything else. It also doesn't help that a lot of programs I use aren't available on other systems.
  • SGWaS reply Apple just kinda mooches off of other, less-successful companies' ideas and inventions nowadays. I miss Steve Jobs...he knew how to run a forward-thinking company like Apple. Still wasn't perfect, but the products were very competent, new and made sense. Nowadays, when the company isn't rehashing old ideas and making only slight changes to the 2007 formula, they rip off of other companies' ideas and be much more successful money-wise, when the product is actually inferior or even mediocre. And sometimes, the logic of the products vanish. Take the iPhone 7, for example. It's a mess. The headphone jack was removed, so audiophiles are either stuck with the still sucky internal speakers, even with "stereo sound", Bluetooth 4, with 5 right around the corner, or an absolutely numb-skulled solution, which is a Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter. So if you like to charge your iPhone while listening to music, prepare to be disappointed. Also, the MacBook Pro lineup had been updated with only USB-C p...moreorts (ONLY), yet the 7, 8 and X still have Lightning ports, even with older products like the Switch having USB-C charging ports. Come on Apple, this is not forward-thinking. Speaking of forward-thinking, the 7, 8 and X are waterproof. There have been waterproof Android phones for a while now that kept the headphone jack, yet Apple "had to" remove it to make the phone waterproof. Yeah, sorry if this comment was too long. I didn't expect it to turn into a ramble, but hopefully you enjoyed reading it. And for you Apple, step up your game. As much as I hate you in your current state, I don't want you to die.
  • dassrighhhtt reply Just wait, one day you will be able to unlock your iPhone with your ass.
  • [ – ] blindfire reply So what is 4chan going to do this time? Waterproof? Charge it by putting it in a microwave? Charge it by shaking? Case flexibility?
    • Kikazaru parent reply I know, maybe something like, idk, saying that the phone is more durable now. As in it will have a harder time cracking if it falls. Tell those idiots thay, and they are bound to drop their phones off of roofs and such to test it. Idk, it's an idea :v
  • brileevir reply I mean, I have a two year old iPhone 6 (my first iPhone) which I will run into the ground, and then I'll try something else. Smart phones are utility objects. If it's part of your self-image, you have serious problems.
  • [ – ] I3UTM reply Any Retro Apple users here? 2010 21.5" iMac 🏃 You game?
  • [ – ] The_Eldritch_Bee reply I love my moto g4, $150 open box. Put lineage os it with minimal google play services, it runs great.
    • [ – ] VoltaicFire parent reply *high five* Let's hear it for cheap yet awesome Android stuff! 😀
      • The_Eldritch_Bee parent reply The funny thing is my best friend cannot give me 1 good reason to own a iphone. She's in poverty and still upgrades yearly, i can't understand the mindset. Then again she's a Jehovah's witness and I'm a atheist.
  • aidanjt reply Hardly surprising MRI results. The cult of apple has been a known phenomena since the 90's.
