Vocal Lesson: Wendy Irvine, professional vocalist and instructor at Metalworks Institute, teaches you breathing tips to improve and strengthen your singing voice.
In this lesson, Wendy explains that all of the sounds we as humans make depend and start from breath. As a singer, if you can master breath, the way you breathe and control it, then you can accomplish your goals as a singer with much greater ease. An exercise to help you do this is to stand with shoulders straight, placing one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach. This will give you insight into how your diaphragm is moving so that you can attempt to make more room for breath.
Beginner and intermediate vocalists are encouraged to take these tips into their daily exercises so that you can drastically improve the effectiveness of your breathing while singing!
