  • [ – ] MysticSword reply Depending on what recording software you use, it might have trouble trying to capture some games or emulators. But a way around that usually works is to play the game in a window, and for your recording software, and if it has the option, to set it to record a region / window recording mode and overlay the recording area over top of the game's window.
    • [ – ] SamEarl13 parent reply That's my main problem, my old laptop does not want to let me record in overlay mode at all without lagging the emulators (and everyone else) into oblivion. A lot of old emulators don't use something that can be picked up by recorders making them impossible to play at the moment.
      • [ – ] MysticSword parent reply What recording software do you use? Some don't cause much lag where other can cause considerable lag. But yeah, the problem could also just be a whimpy computer too. :P Well, if I win the lottery, I'd set ya up with a good gaming rig. :)
        • [ – ] SamEarl13 parent reply I use Bandicam, easily the best for an old computer although nothing else wants to work (including Fraps). I think the graphics card in the laptop is dying and that's whats causing most of the problems.
          • [ – ] MysticSword parent reply Either liteCam or Action are good capture & recording software I use and both have the option to region / window record as well. But yeah, it could just be your old computer dying too. Speaking of which, my computer's been gradually dying for a while, and I figure that it's not such a good gaming computer and to try and repair it would probably be expensive anyways, so even though I can't really afford it I decided I will get a new and much better computer. :) Unfortunately that means my credit-card is now maxed-out and I'm totally broke now. :P But, at least I'll soon be having an awesome gaming PC. Yay!
            • SamEarl13 parent reply That's good to hear, you'll be surprised how nice old games can look when they're run at higher resolutions with a decent framerate.
  • OnlyUltimate reply I was able to emulate ps2 games on my laptop before, but it was really laggy. Nice vid!
