I bought a pumpkin from a grocery store as normal, and during the nights dinner preparations, threw the seeds into the compost. I think it was 8 weeks later, down the side I noticed pumpkin vines so I left them alone. We got 5 Big pumpkins from that plant, absolutely shocked and no effort.
    • therunningrebel parent reply I haven't tried my hand (or should I say green fingers ;) ) at pumpkins yet! Mostly because all of my watermelon attempts have been pretty sad. Last year I only got one tiny little watermelon, although I have high hopes for my melons this year! That's really neat though!!! I had something similar happen with an acorn squash, but we ended up mowing over it before it could produce anything haha.
  • amberthest reply Those strawberry flowers are so pretty! I love seeing your garden's progress :D

  • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas reply I love zucchini too. The plants can put out a lot of them. Your garden is looking very healthy. Gerald is doing a great job! That hail! Those strawberry flowers are pretty. Thanks, Ashley, for giving us an update!
    • therunningrebel parent reply Yes they do!! Plus zucchini is super versatile! I put it in pasta, grill it, make stir fries with it, put it in salad, or just eat it all by it's self. I think it's got to be my favorite vegetable. Thank you!!! Oh man, that hail was awful...hopefully we don't get any more of it. I'm just glad my plants are recovering from it.
