An oldie but a goodie.
this patient presented with a hard and enlarging deltoid (shoulder) muscle. It was clear that the area was infected (warm, tender, and the skin very taut underneath). I proceeded to perform a simple incision and drainage and the result was a true geyser of pus. I had never before hand seen anything like this! The pus (purulent fluid) just shot straight up once I incised the area.
Infection caused by common skin flora bacteria like strep or staph.
This was my first 'viral' video, eventually it got flagged because it was too 'gross' for YT. I have shortened and re-edit it so hopefully this one will stick.
Although there are a lot of versions of this video on other YT channel, this is the original footage and the original post.
Hope you all enjoy the education provided!
