Another super productive day on the homestead.
We put up more shelving, more garden work, moved a lot of brush, painted and installed the front gate, and we got a visit from an eastern king snake. I wasn't sure what kind of snake it was when I filmed it but I have since identified it. I know that a lot of you are super afraid of snakes and many would kill any snake they see. Although I'm not a fan of venomous snakes I come across, I think snakes are cool and do serve a valuable role in nature. The eastern king snake is the kind of snake you WANT on the homestead. They eat rodents and other snakes. They are immune from other snakes venom so they will eat a copperhead snake if given an opportunity. It's natures way of taking care of business for me. This snake is welcome here for as long as she wants to stay.
I also learn that I drive my son "insane". Could it be that I'm not as fun, easy to get along with, and likable as I thought??? :)
