  • [ – ] BrianAiya reply disney songs never get old. I still haven't watch the latest movie with Emma Watson, i need to watch it. Those high notes though. haha that part with the bird chirping in the background, maybe you are a disney princess Bela.
    • PieAndLove parent reply They don't! And I haven't seen the new movie either. Heard mixed reviews about it, especially some of the singing which is probably most important to me. I lovethe high notes because most pop music doesn't call for the kind of range a lot of Disney or musical theater songs call for and it's nice to show off that. and omg maybe i am a bird whisperer.. . . . .. .. ... .. #LetsGetThatBirdFamous
  • [ – ] theoldsparrow reply Really talented but even more so this time. That sounds incredibly hard to sing. Also the best time of the year for bird song. :D #letsgetthatbirdfamous
    • PieAndLove parent reply Thank you! It definitely has some high parts but I like being able to show off a bit with songs like this. ^.^ #letsgetthatbirdfamous

  • [ – ] nothing-in-the-fridge reply IM IN LOVE
  • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas reply Awesome job! Lotta heart going into those notes. The only thing is the keys overpowered your voice a bit. Maybe microphone placement? Anyway, good job!
    • [ – ] PieAndLove parent reply Thank you! I'm aware the piano overpowers the vocals, but there's no real way for me to fix it with the current "movable mic" setup (as opposed to my "stationary mic", a Blue Yeti that I can't move from my room since I don't have a laptop) I have for when I do these kinds of videos. If I moved the mic any closer to me, there would be way too much peaking to handle, and I don't have any way to control that with the current setup I have for recording. The mic is also pretty shit, but at the moment, to record piano stuff, it's all I have. To add to all that, I'm an untrained soprano, so it's a lot more difficult for me to project lower notes, especially when sitting down, which definitely contributes to the piano overpowering vocals at points.
      • [ – ] Flying_Purple_Pizzas parent reply Ah. Got it. How about piano vibrations going up the mic? Maybe putting a towel or something underneath it, if not something higher? Or putting it on another surface other than the piano, maybe bringing in another piece of furniture or equipment? Sorry, I'm a guy and my brain goes into overdrive at such problems.
        • [ – ] PieAndLove parent reply The mic is a lavalier mic that I clip high on one of the curtains behind the piano, so it doesn't really pick up the vibrations of the instrument as far as I can tell. Usually it's just out of frame of the camera so it can't be seen, but if you look really closely in the bottom left corner of this video you can see the mic wire that connects to my iPod running down the piano and out of frame. The mic itself is positioned at about the same height as the bird decoration on the window, but much farther to the left of the bird.
