A poem about how I was feeling on the summer day on which I wrote it and also on much of the fall day on which I edited it.
Poem, reading, filming, video and audio editing by me.
Background song is "Celeste Demo" by Tim Sutton, used with permission and with eternal thanks. His YouTube channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeIL-2FX2SCWNAXtyQv9u5A.
Written in Dover, NH, and Wells and Kennebunkport, Maine.
Filmed in Dover, NH, and Chelmsford and Lowell, Mass.
This poem appears in my first poetry chapbook, an e-book, "The Long Contraction: Twelve Rejected Poems" (self-published at Smashwords, 2016).
Don't say what we
feel, mean, or say.
Today's the day
when none of you
syncs with me. Warm
like an extra
T-shirt on an
extra warm day
with its excess.
Cut it away
it with the rest
in your throat in
case I return.
