  • [ – ] theoldsparrow reply I'd be fine with big youtubers coming over as long as they don't bring negative commenters with them. I'm not a big fan of being told to kill myself by insecure 13 year olds with a chip on their shoulder.
  • [ – ] November_Fox reply When the big YouTubers come, I will already have my own established audience. I'm not trying to get 1 million followers. I'm actually pretty content with the number of followers I have right now. As far as them dominating the trending page, I say let them. I've never been on the trending page and I'm ok with that. I truly mean it when I say I'm only here because I need a hobby. Numbers and popularity don't matter to me.
    • [ – ] AxxL_Afriku parent reply motivation! dedication! get to the trending page and dont let these big youtubers keep you down! dont settle for anything less bro. i know i wont
      • [ – ] November_Fox parent reply Did you not read the comment? I said I don't care about getting on the trending page. I'm here for the fun of it. However, I hope you still achieve your dream of making it.
  • [ – ] BrianAiya reply YES! i don't mind big youtubers coming her. That will be great that they will bring their audience here and their audience might be youtubers too. That's good for vidme. Vidme and Youtube have similar community rules the only difference is the implementation. So as long as they understand the culture here and not try to be like a dominant alpaca and destroy the community from within, every youtuber is welcome here. Anyone can be jealous of views and followers but if someone will hurt someone else because he/she is jealous, that kind of behavior is not good. WE need healthy competition. :)
    • Y2JayDoesAsia parent reply I love how you put "Alpaca" into your comment, LOL. I definitely forsee jealousy when somebody big gets here and suddenly they are dominating the trending page. I wonder when that happens will they perhaps do something to the algorithm on Vidme because I forsee many Vidziens angry when they see nothing but the likes of Smosh, Pewdiepie, Phillip Defranco and Casey Neistat on the Vidme trending page.
  • DGTLONE reply Great informative video bro i am a small channel so i can't see anything effecting anything i do. And jealousy is just a defense mechanism for people who are scared of there opponent. And i honestly don't think anyone on the Vidme site needs to be scared cause all the content i've seen so far on here is amazing. peace everyone
  • [ – ] SERecordsProductions reply Also add to the migration of youtubers to Vidme, is that Vidme itself will most likely to change a lot of how they are running the site with so much user base. Pretty good metaphor with those animals there to describe the situation.
    • Y2JayDoesAsia parent reply Yeah when Vidme gets bigger it'll inevitably have the same challenges Youtube had, like dealing with people gaming the system.
  • Brettkeanevideo reply YouTube fans are not loyal. They tend to not want to go anywhere. Content creators go where the money is. I'm here for community and I like change. Plus I don't like endorsing corporations like google or youtube.
  • Flying_Purple_Pizzas reply Should be interesting, as change always is, when YT celebrities make their appearance. It'll generate more video topics if nothing else.
  • LaurenVideon reply Hopefully, any YTer who comes here learns that Vidme <> YouTube, the same way that Facebook <> Instagram. Any content platform operates differently, and so requires a different method of engaging with it, even if the transition is only minor. AsKaGangsta (who you already mentioned here in the comments I see), seemed to acknowledge some of those differences and has worked with them. Anthony Fantano (AKA theneedledrop) (who puts all his vidme uploads under the channel name "Vidmelon" for some reason) is a bad example, because he's just reuploading his YT stuff and doesn't attempt to engage- when he makes the trending page I think it's on the basis of his already-existing hardcore YT fanbase.
  • [ – ] Ystzom reply You have a point there. But you also have to admit, that some of the big youtubers have indeed worked hard to build their audience on YouTube an for quite a few years. It is just another platform, which has grown in time (and is now getting worse for (small) creators).
  • roachsoap72 reply I'm not going to worry about big youtuber comming to vidme, they will do it and they will bring their own fans, but what has that got to do with me? I'm still going to create the content that I was creating before, only better, and better because my skills will improve, not because I'm trying to keep up with pewdiepie or jacksepticeye. the reason i came over to vidme is because I want to make the statements I want to make, and make comedy in the way I want to make it, not the way I think the advertisers want me to make it. Big youtubers have been slaves to a changing algorythem for most of the time the site has been around, and they are still in some way going to have to answer to their network, and eventualy, viewers will see the difference between play it safe channels and balls to the wall, I dont give a toss, NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY channels
  • The_Z_Files reply I can't see somewhat that happening but I feel the air is different here enough and while "some" of the bigger people have worked hard maybe it doesn't mean they are especially creative or will mesh in this community. If they can come over and be positive like a couple already have with over 1 mil subs and keep community in mind and not muddy up the vidme waters with fake acting and drama im ok with it, who knows if they can't maybe mesh well and actualy be open to colabs or community focused projects and help vidme in ways, only time will tell.
  • [ – ] AxxL_Afriku reply but are there any big youtubers coming to vidme soon?
