  • [ – ] Reasanka reply fuwa fuwa time!! one thing i thought was really good in this show (atleast to me anyway) was the attention to detail in the settings, for example in yui's room i thought you could easily tell what kind of person she is and what sort of life she leads, the world in general just feels really vibrant, alive and just real. It doesn't feel like some numbskull has copied and pasted a setting for generic anime number 4522. it feels detailed and relevant to the characters and the world it portrays. I really like the subtleties of character growth in the show, it's not like other shows where they tell you about how they've grown. it feels obvious to anyone watching without it being explained to you like a little kid. fun fact - the school where the show takes place in has now become a tourist attraction XD KyoAni is possibly my favourite anime studio, i don't like all of their shows but i always find the time to atleast try anything they put out. 9/10 times they get it right tbh There was ...morea KyoAni movie that came out earlier this year called 'Koe No Katachi' or in english 'A Silent Voice' which follows the story of a guy who used to bully a deaf girl coming to terms with what a cunt he is. it's not quite as moving as the manga as they had to fit over 60 chapters of manga into 2 hours and the material they missed takes away from the impact of it i think but it's still an amazing movie and well worth the watch. I formally reccomend it! great review and i look forward to teh next one :D
    • SeaTactics parent reply That's pretty cool that the school they used is now a tourist attraction. I didn't think K-ON had that kind of pull, just thought it was an internet meme. I also like Kyoto, because that's where all the great things come from, like Dragon Maid anime and Shinsuke Nakamura. Hopefully my review for 20th Century Boys will be out next week though. After that I'm going to try and get some more manga stuff out there too. I feel like I should be reading short series as well as long ones at the same time.
