  • [ – ] freerangehobo reply There is a difference between turning the other cheek and defending one's life in general. As I understand scripture, Jesus was telling his followers that Christians were not to Retaliate to religious persecution. It has been understood by devout christians that persecution was and is to be expected, since True Christian principles will ultimately collide with the ideologies of the world. Suffering for Christs sake is quite different from defending your wife or child from random evil doers. Careful examination of scripture, will reveal God's view on matters, as principles and conscience play a huge role in daily decisions we are forced to make.
    • smithpolly parent reply freerangehobo : Let's look at some scripture :And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. -- Numbers 31:15-18

  • GeorgeMcGee reply The metaphor of the atheist ripping the roof off the church and that leading to freezing to death and cannibalism. I totally believe that if you end all religion globally, the result will be freezing to death and cannibalism.
