Legal paternal surrender (LPS) is the idea that men who unintentionally become fathers should be allowed to walk away from their parental duties to their child. This would mirror women's right to walk away from their parental duties via abortions and safe havens. In our current system of laws, consent to sex is not consent to parenthood, but only for women.
