  • [ – ] EquallyWorthless reply I hurt myself not too dissimilarly a few weeks ago. I've been a commuter cyclist for about ten months and three, or so, weeks ago I stupidly thought I could squeeze in between a wall and a tall, blue recycling bin. I fell and scraped my right leg pretty bad. I didn't go to the ER and it didn't need any stitches. It just needed to be cleaned and bandaged. Now I have a light pink scar starting from my knee that nearly reaches my ankle. Get well soon, and wear this injury with pride. I think people should be less embarrassed by injuries and scars because they show that you're not a lazy blob that sits on the couch all day.
    • November_Fox parent reply I glad everything worked out for you ok. I hope I at least get scars where my stitches were so I can remember my first time getting stitches.
  • [ – ] MrJoelDee reply First off, sorry this happened to you but glad you weren't seriously hurt. I always thought too that once you ride a bike you never forget how. I rode one with ease growing up, and made tight turns, etc. A few years ago I got on one and while I didn't fall, lol, I felt like such a dork. Was turning in this big culdesac, PLENTY of room to practically turn an 18 wheeler right? Well big as it was, and I was turning wide too, not trying to do a tight turn at all, I was so wobbly I thought I was gonna turn over at any moment. What could I do but laugh at myself? I thought this is ridiculous.
    • November_Fox parent reply I had ridden my bike to work a few days earlier and I was very wobbly at first as well. I also rode it to work the day of with no problem. I thought I was in the clear, but I still crashed anyway. Perhaps I got over confident the day of the crash.
