Former South African star Dameon Duke, using his real name in FCW at this point (now known as Leo Kruger), debuts on FCW TV against Curt Hawkins on an episode which aired 7 March 2010. Ray Leppan is the former tag team partner of PJ Black/Justin Gabriel and was trained by Gabriel's father, Paul Lloyd, Sr. They are alumni of South Africa's World Wrestling Professionals promotion which has produced some of Africa's (and India's) biggest stars in the last several years. Leppan is a former WWP Heavyweight World Champion. Many years before Gabriel and Leppan wrestled in WWP they teamed as "Pure Juice", wrestling with and against each other in such promotions as AWF/AWA, IWF, ASW, and other South African independents. Leppan appeared on national television in South Africa during the following years:
- AWF on E: Aired on eTV for five months in 2004, during which time Leppan wrestled as "Ray Bourne" and engaged in memorable matches with Hannes "Stunner" Van Zyl who passed away a few years ago.
-WWP Thunderstrike: Leppan took part in the first three seasons of WWP Thunderstrike, which has been airing on SABC2 since 2005. He became the promotion's Heavyweight World Champion and had notable feuds against Ares, Joe E Legend, PJ Black, Fury and others. On July 11, 2009, he lost to Tornado (Steve Debbes, aka Tornado II) in a stellar match in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the vacant WWP Heavyweight World Title. He had his last match in South Africa against Ananzi on July 31, 2009. His final appearance in South Africa occurred at an Ananzi Pro Wrestling Academy show in September, where he cut a semi-shoot promo on the politics in South African wrestling.
Leppan was regarded for many years as the most talented all-rounder in South African wrestling due to his ability to not only work well in the ring but excelling in charisma and mic ability.
