I think you should do another vid on what is crypocurrency, what are bitcoins... what is thier purpose... how does it relate to the real world... and then lead in to how to make money... So if I'm understanding this right, somebody is using your CPU and GPU to "work" for them and this work is considered... mining????..... and all that stuff gets converted to bitcoins which then gets converted to cash...
    • [ – ] HamishW parent reply I think you understand it well! Yes, the mining or computing power is used to solve "blocks" these protect the network from "double spends" (spending more than they have).

        • HamishW parent reply That is a good question. Many miners overclock all of their equipment and have no issues with CPU or GPU. If your computer has heating issues due to overclocking it will automatically shutdown. You should have no issues at all if you are not overclocking. Most likely part (in my opinion) to wear from use is your cooling fan.
