  • [ – ] JustABloke reply Is that @allaj the penny drops, yes I'm slow dang :-) Are all the girls in your life the smart ones that come up with brilliant ideas ? (PSST just taking the piss, couldn't resist, you're just as brilliant too) I was thinking those 2 new lights you put in your wardrobe, have them either side of you facing up, use them as filler lights. I'm guessing here. I may be weird but I so LOVE the daylight hue (you called it white blue). I use them extensively around the exterior of house and the wife thinks we look like a police station LoL I keep the warm hue indoors (yellow tinge), ugh so common.
    • StefanJenkins parent reply Mainnly I try and let them do most of the thinking and I do all the fun things hahah :) That might be a better idea as the light will bounce more, at the moment it hits the clothes and dies a bit. I like that warm light to but I find my camera dosnt work well with it. it starts to look all Pixalated and good idea keeps the thefts away no one burgles a police station :)
  • [ – ] lambdog76 reply i'm into sunlight during magic hour while facing the window currently. also, I am adjusting ISO and f-stop (AWB cloudy, iso 3200, f-stop 8.0) on the camera to get what I'm looking for image wise for the "talkie" part. previously when i was using artificial lighting, i ran into the same problem as you with the color effect. i can't remember the bulb i settled on, i think it was "cool", as "natural" was too blue like what you said, i can look on the bulb if you would like me to, maybe it will say what it is. either way there are some great videos on youtube i'm sure with recommendations. if you fiddle around with Auto White Balance (AWB) in your settings, you may be surprised as to how the camera can compensate when the lighting gets wonky.
    • [ – ] StefanJenkins parent reply Yer let me know what the Bulb is that would be really interesting. its so hard to get the lighting right for videos as all the light needs to really be facing the person on the camera. But I dont want it to be so bright it bilnds me. I really do need to spend some time using my camera on manuel and getting used to that at the moment I use Auto mainly :/
      • [ – ] lambdog76 parent reply I use Auto if I can't get the lighting dialed, that gives my cam a base line, then I dial it to manual and maybe tweak the f stop or iso if I don't get the picture I want, but while a hassle, I am really digging manual focus right now, almost out of necessity as the Canon 700D auto focus while ok in a pinch and for photography and better than my 1100D still leaves much to be desired.
        • [ – ] StefanJenkins parent reply defiantly dose need more auto focus power, I think in normal light my point and shoot has a better auto focus than my cannon. I think I need to make it prortiy to use manual I might even if i just film one scene in each VLog on Manuel
          • lambdog76 parent reply I think I may steal your manual versus auto idea and see as well, maybe do they next vlog in auto and the following fully manual. Crazy thing is the point and shoot vlog cameras are getting really good.
      • [ – ] lambdog76 parent reply 23 Watt "Daylight" Spiral CFL
        • [ – ] lambdog76 parent reply I would use two of them softened in a lamp, or without the shade, or indirect depending on the lighting in the room. My limitation at the time was I would vlog in my kitchen, so I was limited in my power outlet, so I would move where my lights would reach the wall, but, that would shift my back ground to less desirable shading that would sometimes throw off the image.
          • [ – ] lambdog76 parent reply Problem is, instead of working harder to get around that I presenting what I wanted, I simply gave up on that aspect of my vlog for quite some time, which looking back, was a mistake.
          • StefanJenkins parent reply Kitchen Vlogging is very difficult there is s om much less space to work with. if I am serouslly trying to work out how to get some kind of rig so I can film down on what I am cooking. but dont give up. its not to late to get back at it :)
        • StefanJenkins parent reply Nice thanks I Will have a look to see if I can find somthing like that
