  • [ – ] SirRidealot reply United States Supreme Court unanimously reaffirms: There is no ‘hate speech’ exception to the First Amendment A law found to discriminate based on viewpoint is an "egregious form of content discrimination," which is "presumptively unconstitutional." … A law that can be directed against speech found offensive to some portion of the public can be turned against minority and dissenting views to the detriment of all. The First Amendment does not entrust that power to the government’s benevolence. Instead, our reliance must be on the substantial safeguards of free and open discussion in a democratic society. • GanjaGamerKen reply Vidme ! Do what PooTube didn't! Stand by creators stand by free speech and expression! You are poised to take over and surpass YouTube.. don't miss the opportunity.
  • [ – ] 3oddbits reply To : Vid.Me A lot of the Non-PC and/or Opposed to Female Gender Supremacy content producers are looking for a new home. Please don't pull the same idiocy that YouTube is doing. Loose the "NO hate speech / NO racism" policy. Remember the movie "Blazing Saddles" by Mel Brooks? Many SJW now claim that movie is "racist". I think the movie is extremely funny. A subjective judgement. As long as you rely on subjective judgement for defining "hate speech / racism", you going to have major problems. Build a business or destroy it, your choice.
    • lauriehouse parent reply You sound like Jigsaw :D
    • TheMac parent reply It is true, you will always see things that "you" do not like. So what? It is no big deal. Ask useful questions, make your own response, or just ignore it. No idea has the right to be free of criticism. If there is no politics, I have zero reason to even look at vid.me. No reason, at all.
  • SuitYourself reply "Supreme Court unanimously reaffirms: There is no ‘hate speech’ exception to the First Amendment". (please search google for this exact text). An excerpt: "A law found to discriminate based on viewpoint is an “egregious form of content discrimination,” which is “presumptively unconstitutional.” … A law that can be directed against speech found offensive to some portion of the public can be turned against minority and dissenting views to the detriment of all. • [ – ] Dainja reply This is officially my first Vidme vid. Suit popped my vid me cherry. This comment section is now equivalent to my sacred blood-stained sheets. After this vid is over I will no longer be worth anything to my father... I think I lost the metaphor a little bit here.
  • [ – ] RobertTLongway reply Glad you made this I hadn't heard that vid.me was doing this
    • RobertTLongway parent reply Commented too soon - you also offer a brilliant solution! Wtf they should be sending you cash for that suggestion I love it
  • AceAcer2 reply Lets hope they will have the common sense to follow your advice, i'd hate to see a promising platform like vid,me go down the same road YT took and be hated by its users.
  • Nicodemous52 reply Oh,and your trigger warning idea is perfect. That to me is more than fair. It means most videos in some categories would carry the trigger warning, but that is a small price to pay for freedom, assuming they let their balls drop.
  • Mark_Hale reply I'm with you suit, we left YouTube for this exact same bullshit. If it's non trending categories today, it's algorithmic hate speech tagging.
  • Nicodemous52 reply They also take away your verified status if you don't play nice enough by their standard.
  • POVincent reply @KrishMohanHaha
  • x_BIX reply I think what they should do is basically make an "SJW PROTECTION MODE" trigger. If you need to be babied through everything, turn this mode on and anything political or even slightly offensive will be filtered from view. And if you want to see it, you can. That way, people who need to be babied through the internet can, but rational people can too.
  • [ – ] iamli3 reply fully agree , i've been uploading mostly political videos to vidme since last year as yt continues to shoot holes into their own ship , and i've got 9 subs and 600 views in total , this is a fucking joke , i have no exposure on here what so ever , at least on yt i've gained about 50 subs for the past year's work i've done.....
    • [ – ] yourvagismysafespace parent reply I looked at your channel & quite honestly I would never bother to click on anything with a mlp in the thumbnail. Whining like a little bitch isn't the way to get views. If you thought out the math, a billion+ viewers on utube netted you a whopping 50 subs, who most likely will never click on another of your videos ever again, while on VIDME (a small but exponentially growing site) got you 9. If a creator with a following (such as suit yourself) liked your content & gave you a shout-out, just on mere nod from him on here would blow your utube numbers out of the water.
      • [ – ] iamli3 parent reply ....was this reply supposed to be helpful?....
        • [ – ] yourvagismysafespace parent reply How could you not see it as anything but? One of the ways I find new creators is when they post a comment that catches my attention on a video I've watched. I will take a look at what they've posted and/or upvoted. As stated above just the mlp is enough to keep me from clicking. If a creator I follow gave someone who I wouldn't give a second glance to based on their thumbnail a thumbs up, I might be inclined to give then a shot. Using the math, you have pulled in an extremely higher number of VIDME followers vs your subcriber per possible audience on utube. To put it in the simplest terms possible, 50 out of X billion is an extremely lower percentage than 9 out of X million. If you create content that strikes a cord, word will spread. I'd wager that most of the growing creators just needed that one break from a known creator to blow up. But I will say this, tell me what you consider your finest work (I don't watch game or anime videos), & I'll give it a completely open minded wat...morech.
          • iamli3 parent reply don't forget to click more for the comment , sigh why does this site still not have an edit comment function?..
          • iamli3 parent reply i can't upload anything to vidme anymore not even a fucking channel image help it get's as far as letting me add the file to be uplaoded and then it just does fucking nothing.........
          • [ – ] iamli3 parent reply >I will take a look at what they've posted and/or upvoted. As stated above just the mlp is enough to keep me from clicking. i can't help that , so was this comment supposed to be helpful?... >If a creator I follow gave someone who I wouldn't give a second glance to based on their thumbnail a thumbs up, I might be inclined to give then a shot. i haven't uplaoded it hear yet but i already have a video on yt/minds requesting sargon for a livestream... >Using the math is hyperbolic at best , user engagement is a much better indicator of potential sub counts than the entire user pool , which you never provided , you say billion and million in this comment now but those are substitute numbers...... >you have pulled in an extremely higher number of VIDME followers vs your subcriber per possible audience on utube. single digits is not "high"... >If you create content that strikes a cord, word will spread. not necessarily , not even on minds could i boost my video on trump's syrian mi...moressile strike into some kind of recognition the day after it happens when the entire internet was ablaze with confusion and condemnation while i was the only one providing the answers that have now been proven right.... >But I will say this, tell me what you consider your finest work (I don't watch game or anime videos), & I'll give it a completely open minded watch. thank you , but this is a difficult proposition for me to make when the topics of my social analysis videos are so far ranging and i know nothing about you , but since we're on a video about old media vs new media let's try this one... https://vid.me/P2tf
            • [ – ] yourvagismysafespace parent reply You think that just requesting an audience with Sargon will be your claim to fame? Why not become note worthy before attempting to make contact with a big dog? Or better yet, how about waiting to be noticed and invited to the grown ups table? I have amassed more followers on MINDS during the few months I've been posting, than your utube & VIDME stats combined. I don't post often, only when something catches my attention & might be obscure enough not to have been given the exposure it warrants or when a thought occurs to me that I feel is worth sharing. BTW I never boost my own content, but rather choose to uplift those whom I agree with when they have a posting I view as needing a wider reach. I didn't join to collect followers, but to interact with others with a somewhat similar outlook but a different approach to things.
              • iamli3 parent reply >You think that just requesting an audience with Sargon will be your claim to fame? no , the purpose of the request is stated in the video >Why not become note worthy before attempting to make contact with a big dog? trying to , but time is not on our side , as i state in the video we have less than 8 years of life support left on our current trajectory , this needs to happen asap.... >I have amassed more followers on MINDS during the few months I've been posting, than your utube & VIDME stats combined. same , but im still under half my total subs from yt on minds , the recognition isn't happening fast enough... >BTW I never boost my own content, but rather choose to uplift those whom I agree with when they have a posting I view as needing a wider reach. i share my boost points too but i save most for myself and my videos which have benefited from it , again it's just to little to late for the worldly position we find ourselves in....
  • Chooibah reply I signed up to vid.me about 20 minutes ago, I was hoping this platform wouldn't be following the idiocy of YouTube, but perhaps we need an alternative to this alternative. Slightly disappointed.
  • JonnyBonSocko reply If they don't delete Community Rule #2 outright, Vidme will become nothing more than a less popular version of YT. It will also become known as the platform that could have blown YouTube out of the water because it realized that "Hate Speech" was nothing more than PC cop-out for snowflakes that can't handle being questioned. Suit is right, now is the time to step up and become a success or YouTube+. With YouTube dropping a sledgehammer on creators with less than PC oriented ideas, opinions and material, Vidme could make a very large dent into YT. Vidme could grab a nice chunk of the creator world that is trying to find a home where they can speak their mind without being called names, having videos black-balled, and their time and energy wasted because the population is becoming oh so sensitive and butt hurt. Make up your mind Vidme, do you want to become YT+ or potentially the next pop culture success story?
  • CelluloidShot reply I just crated an account this morning and now this shit, Was there a point in me doing this. Big YouTube or little YouTube, fuck
  • IdeoNaut reply There's allot of things VidMe should be doing.. Remember, all the bullshit with YT began LONG ago, back in 2011/2010 yet when they started changing the layout of their platform to where it was essentially a FACEBOOK CLONE that wasn't customizeable, save for this lame "cover photo" stuff.. I want to be able to control THE COLOR SCHEME AND FONTS at least if not any background images. Heck, even a few generic "themes" wouldn't hurt to at least match the "cover" and "profile" photoes a little. After YT became this endless white plain that strains your eyes that's when the problems started, and before long we've gotten ourselves into this mess now. VidME - Take only the USEFUL innovations of YT, but try to retain all that made it great to begin with at least..
  • Nicodemous52 reply If Vidme is going to suppress anything, they need to suppress Let's Plays from the random button. Make it so you can't get more than like three in a row before showing you something else. I love the idea of the random button, it reminds me of flipping channels when I was a kid and still watched TV. But right now Vidme is just an endless sea of let's plays and while I love gaming content. I like reviews and discussion about games, I don't particularly like let's plays specifically.
  • christina_church reply Stand up and roll bwahaha
  • The_Lamb reply Pure gold Suit. It is sad to see that you are no longer posting on Youtube, but hey, that's your right, RIGHT :) Cheers.
  • Hobostarr180 reply ,i agree with this a lot
  • Cellblock776 reply Well, FUCK! I left YouTube and moved here to Vidme because of the political censorship on YT. If they are censoring political speech by removing it from Trending or burying it in any way then I made a mistake and should have waited for Minds to get set up and then gone there. God Damn it Vidme. You fuckers pulled a bait and switch.
  • 7zonneikan reply I am new here and i was thinking on starting a career instead of using youtube since its becoming so controled freaked by the alphabet overlords... its not fair for political analists or even conspiracy theorists to earn a living that way when freedom of speech is being attacked. We need as people of the internet, the freedom to express ourselves even though its a critique or political analisis. The people is the one who has the right to express themselves and if we are prevented from that, all the other constitutional acts will follow and be taken away. I wonder what vidme would do if steven crowder, alex jones, milo, rebel media, shapiro, and many other independent media were interested in present their material here. They have huge followers and if their were on a hidden place then, that means not so much revenue... unless this website is just a cover for something deeper...
  • Crypter27 reply I agree with SY ,vidme don't go in the way of you-tube and it sounds like you're making a big mistake adopting hate speech codes
  • [ – ] jeff4justice reply @SuitYourself I'm the Jeff who posted this original question on Vidme's reddit in response to the claims by @Styxhexenhammer666 that Vidme was keeping political videos off of their Hot (aka trending) page. I basically asked Vidme to clarify: • Are political videos welcome o Vidme equally from people of all political walks of life including Democrats, Republicans, Greens, Libertarians, socialists, anarchists, non-voters, etc... • If Vidme only welcomes a specific political ideology, please state so in their Community Guidelines or TOS so unwelcome creators don't waste our time I also urged them to treat all political creators and all creators in general equally. In response to the idea that political vids were dominating the hot/trending page as an excuse to take them off there, I pointed out: • Vidme already limits how many times a creator can trend at once and also how long they can trend - so if the issue is really about not letting one category genre dominate the site t...morehen they could simply limit the number of vids per category that trend at a time • I pointed out other types of videos are now dominating their Hot/trending page such as ASMR and gaming • I pointed out that sometimes a trend is just a trend: fidget spinners, lava floor, ice bucket challenge, Harlem Shake, etc... I also asked about Vidme's TOS and Community Rules as it pertains to videos that could be perceived as controversial. For example, as a gay man, can I post on Vidme: • A video of anti-LGBT protesters at a Pride march? • A video of me criticizing other LGBTs or LGBT mega groups? • A video of me calling out or confronting anti-LGBTs? • A video of a LGBT person being verbally harassed? Or is that too controversial for Vidme? On the flip side, are people who speak out against LGBT equality politically or for religious reasons welcome to share those views on Vidme? Or is that too controversial for Vidme? Can I post on Vidme: • A video of me yelling at or calling out politicians? • A video of me debating with anti-abortion demonstrators? Or is that too controversial for Vidme? Removing political vids from the trending page to prevent the site from being perceived as solely about that type of content is a silly over-reaction when there are other solutions available that don't in-effect punish political creators for their success. Even though I make political videos, I find most other political channels boring, annoying, or redundant. Simple solution: I don't watch them. Likewise, I don't like gaming videos. Simple solution: I don't watch them. Unfortunately there appears to be a portion of Vidme creators or viewers who seem to try to go out of their way to make things they don't like get removed instead of simply not watching them. I believe in freedom of association as much as I value free speech so if I don't want to associate with someone I find offensive, annoying, or otherwise unlikable, I simply don't associate with them. I'm 36 years old so there's no word I haven't heard. If someone calls me an anti-gay slur, I actually enjoy how clever I can be at roasting those types of people. If one wants to be in the public sphere, one has to have a thick skin. But that doesn't mean I am obligated to give any of my time or attention to people I wish not to associate with. At the end of the day who's going to pay Vidme's bills? Democrat-leaning advertisers or Republican-leaning crowdfunding? Economically speaking, it appears as though the advertising world is more Democratic-leaning. Therefore, if Vidme opts to only wants to allow pro-establishment videos or pro-Democrat-friendly political videos or no political videos to trend or be welcome on their site then so be it. Whatever they decide, they should at least be clear and upfront about it. A private business has no obligation to free speech (unless they proclaim they do, as Vidme has done). Will some video venue site otherwise emerge by a pro-liberty or Republican or free-speech loving Democrat/Republican/other group of tech people with the money to make such a site? Is Gab, Minds, BitChute, CRTV, or something else emerge to scoop up all of the YouTube political refugees? What about the Democrat-leaning creators who don't fall in line with the establishment (the ones who don't get hired by Russia Today)? Will someone like Alex Jones create a video venue site? Will you and Styxhexenhammer666 join forces to create a site? To be continued...
    • [ – ] yourvagismysafespace parent reply I also don't watch gaming videos but don't care if they're trending or not, if they are more power to them. There are actually very few pro-leftists companies, perhaps a lgbt-aeiou& sometimes y speciality store, an organic vegan pet food company, & the handful of businesses that can survive without 80% of the white demographic as potential buyers, but most are finding out that when you pick a side, you've pissed off 1/2 your potential customers. As an example, there was that insurance company that pulled their ads off Fox news but kept advertising on CNN. Word got to the right & people responded by cancelling their insurance. The company pulled their ads from CNN as well. Q: Who won? A: Nobody. Both sides lost revenue & the company lost out on attracting new customers. Once the boycott list is compiled of who advertises on left leaning channels, those companies will have the right to contend with. The left had begun their witch-hunt without ever contemplating that the same tactic...mores would be used against them as well. Luckily for the left Google has deep pockets & can afford to keep utube up & running for eternity. The unanswered question is will they. But the big question that hasn't been given enough attention is that as the left continues to try to bring all marginalized groups under one umbrella, how long until the inner battle begins for which group holds the title as the most oppressed? We've already seen blm shit all over lgbt events, & homosexuality is taboo in the manly man word of the inner city. They've already tried mixing islam & feminism, two totally conflicting ideals, yet they think that they've successfully merged them. All you can do is make some popcorn, sit back, & enjoy the show.
      • jeff4justice parent reply That's a lot to unpack there. I think it's foolish when a non-political business tries to get political. Next, I don't really see the world from a "left vs right" perspective. I see it from a "statist vs pro-liberty" perspective. Here in the USA the "left vs right" paradigm has manifest into the 2 party system charade. As much as they pretend to be very different, at the end of the day both Democrats and Republicans love the big-brother/nanny-state in different ways.
  • yourvagismysafespace reply PEDO SYMPATHIZER on VIDME!!! It also has a video on the Australian pedo travel ban. Help bring this cancer to SUIT YOURSELF's attention. https://vid.me/3RagS
  • yourvagismysafespace reply PEDO SYMPATHIZER on VIDME!! He even talks about Australia's pedo travel ban. Hopefully someone will be able to get SUIT YOURSELF to do a video on this pos. https://vid.me/3RagS
  • Sock_Puppet reply I really hope Vid.me listens to you guys as I am starting to get used to being here instead of YT.
  • JennyFedora reply The ability to choose what is on trending has been proposed over 6 months ago. All of this discussion has gone on before. Everything old is new again.
  • VukMUS reply I like the way you think! If the team doesn't want to remove politics from its blockade, they should make it optional for users. That way, everyone's happy.
  • AAMTheRealKB3 reply "This is hate speech on YouTube"... reeee
  • CRMason reply My first video on vid.me and my first follow goes to Suit! Now trying to follow all my youtube subs. This will take a while...
  • [ – ] Fantasy_Fanatic reply Seriously hope they do listen...I'm just so sick of SJW shit. It would be nice to have at least a more decent platform...far better than youtube of course. Great vid man. ^^ Now um....silly question...since I'm a woman therefore I have no balls....what should I drop? XD
  • PhantomEmpress reply Cool to see you on here. Hope this site stays neutral.
  • Sinistar_Aries reply That sounds like a good trade off. The trending page for a while at one point was just Vidme category turning into drama and the usual "One person does this and does it well, so everyone follows" and floods trending with that for days. Similar was happening with Politics to a degree and some of us had indeed voiced opinions about it. When only things on the front page was mainly those two categories, it wasn't much to really want to return to. That also brings attention to how they have searches and category pages set up to how you only see there what you haven't yet seen and then it's gone unless it also gets to the trending page or you decided to follow that person after seeing that video. Having to load videos on a page instead of giving videos per page to flip through makes Firefox choke and die.. so isn't all that helpful.
  • draconath reply Sounds like it is going to be a bit of fun times
  • MultiKillerjoe reply i hate politics *rolls my eyes*
  • Carm3D reply This video was fantastic! I agree with all points within!
  • Texastom reply I've had an account here for a few months, now with YOUTUBE's new speech guide lines(censoring). i will be watching my favorite content creators on this site. this is an opportunity for VIDME to gain more users.
  • Bleachameete reply I really don't see a big issue here, honestly there is a politics for a reason.
